False allegations should carry the same weight as the crime they're accusing.
Just the accusation is enough to ruin someone's life absolutely
I'm afraid to say yes they should Rape is on a thin line anyway but to wrongly accuse someone is a crime in itself Mud sticks innocent or not the reputation of rapest will stay in the minds of some
I mean, feminist are all about equality, so if men go to jail over a false rape charge, and no one thinks women can do that, then yes. They should go to jail. Equality :D
Its already a crime to make a false report, its just rarely if ever enforced.. Yes i believe she should be forced to suffer the same consequences as the person she accused would have suffered.
I also believe that they should be placed on a "Girl who cried wolf" list so that their claims would be treated less than serious next time they report someone.
She should get a sentence equal to what he would have gone if he was falsely convicted. If not that, then she should get half of what he would have been sentenced.
They should be fined like, 500$ for wasting people’s time, and technically... you can sue her for false accusations, AND slander.
Most definitely! Maybe even executed, false cries of rape force a guy into a jacket that he'll never get out from under.
I wouldn't say go to jail but anyone who makes false accusations/allegations should be punished for their actions.
They have to pay all court fees for both parties and pay the defendant what he lost in salary if he lost his job. or go to prison for 5 years.
@EyesOfGod yea I guess different rules are applied in different countries. I didn't know you could go to prison for 5 years. If so it's fair enough because you're destroying someone else's life with false accusations.
Yeah. That may stop them from making those false allegations or they should at least receive the same punishment the man was going to get.
Yes they should. But i have a huge issue with sex crimes where therea no admission of guilt and lack of substatial dna.
No, they’re not a physical threat. They should be fined instead.
Jail.
@coffeewithcream Fined. I don’t think imprisoning people for false accusations of any crime is the right solution. So many people want to use jail as a punishment because it makes them feel better but that’s not what the prison system is for.
O, cry me a river.
A manipulative conniving female or females who deliberately plan to ruin the life of a male while soliciting sympathy as a fake victim and going through a hearing process with false allegations?
Women who commit that crime have committed a combination of fraud, perjury, mischief, intent to deceive and intent to injure. That's jail time.
@coffeewithcream Why? The point of putting someone in jail or prison is to protect the public by stopping them from committing crimes, and jail doesn’t do that for these accusers. They can still falsely accuse men from jail so it’s a waste of time and money to send them there. It’s not a practical solution- people just want it for emotional gratification because it makes them feel good to see a bad person who tried to hurt someone get locked up.
It's punishment.
That's what happens when you break the law.
It has nothing to do with gratification.
By your logic murderers should never be sent to jail because they could kill someone inside the jail.
That's stupid.
@coffeewithcream A fine is a punishment too and our current prison system has a disturbingly high recidivism rate so I don’t think jailing false accusers will stop them from doing this again once they’re released. Putting a false accuser in jail is not an effective way to stop her from making another false accusation because she still has access to the people she needs to accuse someone else and the jail staff can’t stop her from doing that. Jail staff can intervene when an inmate attacks someone, steals something, smuggles drugs, or otherwise commits a physical crime but they can’t stop an inmate from telling her visitors that someone raped her or asking her lawyer to pursue rape charges.
Tough shit.
Let's be soft on women. Because when a woman ruins a man's life, she's the victim.
There's a million excuses to keep women out of jail, poor dears.
For false allegations- even of sexual harassment- the judge should have the option of sentencing the woman to jail time.
The crime deserves a punishment that is more than just inconvenient for the offender, like a fee that needs to be paid. Jail is a correctional punishment, and always has been. Waste a few years of your life behind bars and you'll gain a new perspective on life (hopefully) when you get out.
A fine isn't punishment enough. They need to be in prison so that people realize how much scum they are.
Why? What does jail achieve that other measures does not?
Yes. They should face the same sentence as the people they accuse, plus an extra 5 years in prison, plus lifetime registration as sex offenders.
Simples...
I think if you knowingly falsely report any crime you should be subject to up to 50% of the sentence that crime would have carried if it were prosecuted. Whether that be a fine, jail time or both.
Of course. Rape allegations are serious and carry strong penalties to those accused of it. If a girl lies to get a man in jail by playing the rape card, she should be punished accordingly.
I personally know how difficult it is with how to open up about an assault and how much it affects your life. So people who fake it should be punished.
Yes, but more to the point: men or women should be tried because the defamation of character has massive impacts on someone's life before it ever goes to court.
Yes. 100%
But they don't and innocent men have had their lives, careers and futures ruined.
You can actually see inequality with this. Women have far more benefits than men.
Absolutely. And punishment should be as severe as it would have been for the falsely accused
Well it's hard to proof either way right?
You can't proof if a guy raped you or not, you can't proof if the girl is lying or not.
One of their lives will be ruined.
Yes they should get the sentence the falsely accused would have gotten. Ill call it 'Paybacks a Bitch' Law
Yes she wanted man she said raped her go to JAIL. she is worse than rapist? How many times has she accused men of rape
Should men have their lives ruined cause of woman's false accusations? The answer to my question is no, the answer to your question is yes and more
Yes, women should go to jail for false rape allegations, depending on the severity of personal damage to the other party. Orange is the new Black also.
Now this is a tough question to answer because of the way court works they could be telling the truth but because the defendant has a better lawyer they are proven innocent
Yes they should! There is no logical reason why she should not.
Absolutely. That's a fucked up thing to do to someone..
Nobody should go to jail for rape allegations. Not even Harvey Weinstein.
She's asking if women should go to jail for making a false accusation
@ThiccNigro Sorry. I can't read. No. Really. There should be some criminal penalty.
Defamation of character, perhaps.
1.) Only a feminazi would say 'no'.
2.) ANYONE should go to jail for false rape accusations.
Ja! A taste of their own medicine. See how they like it.
I believe that already is a crime (at least in the U. S.). It would be considered filing a false police report.
As in making it up and accusing someone? Absolutely. Should be maximum sentence for the crime falsely attributed + five years.
Honestly if I was sexually assulted I would make sure to keep my mouth shut and not report it. Especially if it was by someone close to me so it makes me sick seeing how sexual assult victims stay quiet yet people lie about abuse
Yup. For any false allegations which involves the accused having losses or legal actions taken against them.
Yes. I think that's totally uncool. If a girl does that she is almost as bad as the guy who would do it.
Either way it ruins lives
Absolutely if it is proven to be a false accusation.
I believe that is technically the law no? It is somewhat fair...
Wemen, sending a man to prison will not unpregnate you.
Yes.
100 % yes.
They should also be fined and forced to make a public apology.
They should permit one guy to rape her as recompense
False rape allegations can ruin a guys life and women shouldn’t get away with it but that’s just cruel.
Yes, thought the complications of proving it would make it hard. Innocent untill proven guilty should be true regardless of the crime.
In Europe it's illegal to name a person accused of rape unless they have lost the case. Women can make millions from being paid off for false rape accusations in America.
Abso-fucking-lutely. But only after they actually do get raped. Make them learn the hard way.
Well they should have to face some sort of consequence.
Yes, because they committed fraud of false rape accusations.
yeah definitely, they probably ruined someones career/life bc of it
Yup, they should recieve at least the same punishment that the guy would get if it were true
Yes completely defamation of crime and false police reports
Yes, but just like rape, let's make sure that it's a just conviction and not just jumping the gun.
Yes, if they did it intentionally, then yes. If it was mistaken identity then no
As it illegal to lie to police officers and expesssaly illegal to lie in court i would think so
Trouble with these sort of cases, it's who is more believe able...
I feel like trying to get someone arrested for something they didn't do should get somebody arrested in any case
If it can be proved beyond a shadow of a doubt that it was false. We must maintain due process.
definitely. Those allegations can ruin a man's life and they shouldn't get off with a slap on the wrist.
If women made false rape accusation, they should go to jail & pay for monetary damages.
Yes, they shouldn't be able to get away with ruining a guy's life. They should be sued as well.
Yep. Women want equality and they should get it, otherwise it's discrimination.
Yes, I have no mercy for women when they break the law, let them go to jail and rot in prison.
