Take a coin and place it on your thumb, sliding the tip under your index finger. If you were to flip the coin, would it come up heads or tails? You don't know? Why not? Calculate the quantity, location and direction of the forces applied to the coin, and you'll know which way it's going to land. There is cause, and there is effect. Randomness does not exist. That you do not know the variables does not mean the variables aren't knowable.

It's no different with actions far broader than coin-flipping. You don't know the variables, so you call it "randomness". They don't know the variables, so they call it "unfair".

But in Videogames, where a lot of randomness happens, the chance for getting a nice shiny weapon is the same for each type, so everyone has the same chance to getting his desired weapon, which is fair.
(Even though there is still something like "bad luck protection" for those who kill the boss multiple times and stil don't got their weapon)

Because they want to believe it. What people want to believe that they believe. For example scientists or science inclined people. They want to believe in science because it often works and hence they do. Another reason is that they are afraid of indeterminacy just like religious people.

Or mysticists they want to believe in some things because it for example gives a good feeling of being guarded or helped or similar and hence they do.

Terrible things undoubtedly happen. Usually you can learn a lot of lessons from them, as unbearable as they are in the moment. Least one can get at least get a slither of salvation from most terrible things as they are at least transient for the most part.
