u +1 yTheft is justified by poverty and the need for food? In my area, there are too many food banks which give away food for someone to claim that they needed to steal food.
Murder is justified by self-defense or for it not being voluntary. If you act in self-defense, then it is not murder, by definition. If it is not voluntary? I am not sure what you mean, but the killing of another person by negligence that does not rise to the level of an intentional act is called manslaughter.
And rape is justified by what? I haven't had sex in awhile and was really horny? I don't think so.21 Reply

HELL NO!!!
Theft, and robbery and any other crimes are also not acceptable!! NO JUSTIFICATION!!!
All of the vandalism, burning and looting is TOTALLY ILLEGAL, and every one of them should be charged and sent to prison!! They DESTROYED the lives of people that had NOTHING TO DO with the issues that were the cause of the protests!!
It surprised me, that very few got shot, when looting and burning property of those, just local Mom & Pop stores, and they are totally FUCKED, because of those bastards!!10 ReplyRape is NEVER justifiable. Theft can be justified when someone needs to eat and cannot afford food. Killing (not murder) is justifiable in the case of self-defense. There are many crimes that are justifiable and are only crimes because society says so. Many crimes should not technically be crimes because they reflect societal values instead of real threats. Rape is not one of them. Rape is overpowering and hurting someone for no good reason. Rape is not essential to survival. Rape is just someone pushing their will onto someone else at the victim's expense.
00 Reply1.9K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. Years ago the band Creatures had a song from the perspective of a 13 year boy used to repopulate a tribe. After years of war all the men had been killed. I think that we all can agree that this is both rape and child abuse and it could be argued that it's justified.

"Manchild" by the band The Creatures. Siouxsie just alludes to it never going right out and saying it the lyrics are
"I walk in boots too big for me
"the women do cry as they watch over me
"I work at the altar and try to be good
"But just like the others I'll soon travel in wood" Like many sexual themes she has covered it's quite hidden. I'm not sure that I agree with it, but it's a justification. Same justification Margaret Atwood used in "Handmaiden's Tale" can a society force someone to breed if they are facing extinction?
Asker+1 yOK, that's not stupid. It's still morally repulsive though.
Asker+1 yArgument about what?
Asker+1 yMy problem is I don't really understand the "necessity" of raping to repopulate. Wouldn't artificial insemination be easier? I guess there's some unnecessary need to hurt people at the same time...
- +1 y
It's still object rape. And you are assuming a level of technology. I agree that it's both reprehensible and immoral, but can it be justified. I'll parallel it to cannibalism most human's find the practice both reprehensible and immoral but we do understand it in extreme cases. This assumes an extreme case. Its that argument when does the rights of the group supersede the rights of the individual? In a pure unchecked democracy a group could, theoretically, vote someone in the group to death. 5 people vote including the person who will be executed, the person and their spouse both vote no everyone else votes yes. The majority becomes an oppressor. This theoretical is along the same lines. During the invasion of China in WWII the Japanese government created a culture of normality of rape. Where men who would not rape were shamed and mocked (I'll let you. look it up if you need sources I'd rather not go into that myself). It became a societal norm and an expectation. I would think if it happened once it could happen again. I don't agree with it, but I can present it as a possibility.
+1 yGenerally thinking about it, definitely not (rapists should probably die in my opinion), but what if one rapes a rapist to give them a taste of their own medicine, due to them raping in the first place?
'Being horny' or someone being dressed in a way isn't an excuse to do it, if one is horny, masturbate or something, no reason to fuck someone else up against their will.04 Reply
Asker+1 yRegarding the question of raping the rapists : rape is such an annihilation of one's humanity will and dignity. To me, it's closer to torture than anything else. It's a crime against one's humanity. So, can we also justify torture? I'm not sure honestly...
- +1 y
Yeah, it's definitely a tough one, but if someone makes someone else suffer unnecessarily, then isn't it fair that they get what's coming to them? I guess a person's morals do play a part, but I wouldn't mind having serial killers or something die, they made others suffer.
Asker+1 yThen you've just become one of them and deserve the same treatment. One's awful mind and behavior aren't worth the loss of my soul.
- +1 y
You mean the person who's giving the criminal their punishment is no better or?
This question looks very dumb to me. But maybe it's due to current laziness of imagination.
Of course not, it can't.

I did. I have not commented but this thing with "sperm controlled the guy" is complete bs to me, as far I know it isn't accepted by law as any legit state of uncotrollability and there is gonna to be a reason why not. They can have a condition, but that's another story, then they are just mentally ill.
Asker+1 yI knew there may be some weird answers. To be honest, I thought there would be more BS. I'm quite happily surprised.
Asker+1 yCuriosity. Why do so many people here ask questions about sex or how they look? How is that relevant to anyone? This question is a society question. It impacts everyone.
Asker+1 yBut not everyone...
Anonymous(25-29)+1 yRape by definition is a violation. A violation is an unjustified act. The only thing that murkies these waters is what is considered a violation after the fact. If at first both parties don't feel violated, but one or both parties do after the fact that doesn't change the initial conditions. That doesn't make it justified, but some area between. If people only saved themselves for marriage these risk would disappear. With sex in marriage being an agreed act between husband and wife. If not agreed then it is assault.
00 Reply3.5K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. of course not. Unless if literally all women stop having sex and somehow want to stop pregnancy so the entire human race dies off so then we kinda have to keep people exists but when on earth would that happen.
Asker+1 yAnd this would justify rape?
Anonymous(25-29)+1 yI dont think it can ever be justified but I think it can be misunderstood. I'm talking about cases where people consensually start but half way through one decides they dont want it any more and claims its rape as the other didn't stop at that exact moment.
Equally I believe some people who have cheated will claim it is rape despite it being consensual. Purely because they dont want the conflict or fallout of them cheating and/or being judged about who they cheated with.05 Reply
Asker+1 yIf the person says : "no", then it's rape, yes.
Opinion Owner+1 yI agree, but I think from a legal standpoint it's a morally gray area if its consensual to start with.
Asker+1 yAs long as one person shows discomfort or says:"no", it's not consensual anymore.
Opinion Owner+1 yYeah I know, but in some cases where like the girl changes her mind then calls rape because the guy takes a few seconds to stop. Its difficult to explain law wise because the guy didn't stop the split second the girl told him to
Asker+1 yI really doubt this even happens...
1.4K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. No, that's a false equivalency.
Of course it's not justified. How would that ever be justified? - Murder could be under certain circumstances as a means to an end, resulting from an episode of self-preservation. When would someone 'deserve' that?03 Reply
Asker+1 yDeserve what?
Asker+1 yYou haven't answered ha ha ha!
In real life? No. I'm sure you can think of some bizarre scenario though where someone is threatening to blow up a bus full of schoolchildren unless someone commits rape.
10 Reply8.1K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. You can justify stealing to feed your family or murder as self defense. Rape has no value to the attacker so the act alone is never justified unless the attacker may be under threat him or herself if they refuse to commit to it but I can imagine that is extremely rare.
00 ReplyTheft can't be justified. You are harming others for selfish reasons. That person might suffer due to your theft.

Anonymous(30-35)+1 yTrue rape cannot be justified, but there are things that are called "rape" today that are forgivable.
Asker+1 ySuch as?
Opinion Owner+1 ySuch as a drunk women who comes on to and has sex with a sober man, or a woman who later says she didn't want to have sex with a guy but said and did nothing to indicate that at the time. The law in in some states now requires a man get affirmative consent from a women prior to sex, but a woman has no legal responsibility to indicate to the man that she doesn't want to have sex.
The fact is that the law today tries to put all the responsibility on men when it comes to questionable communication during sex, and men are held responsible for their choices and actions regardless of of whether they have been drinking whereas women are not.
Asker+1 yMen are responsible, yes. If you notice someone is very drunk, you shouldn't have sex with this person. The main problem with rape is how underreported it is.
Opinion Owner+1 yWomen should be held equally responsible under the law, and today they are not. In anything sexually related women are viewed as helpless victims, and men as perpetrators, by default. Women are held to a much lower standard than men, and that is wrong and needs to change.
Underreporting is indeed a big problem, and that is true of both rape and false rape accusations. The fact is false rape accusations are far more common that most people recognize because in the vast majority of cases of false rape accusations the accusations are never proven to be false. Proving an accusation is false is far more difficult than proving a rape occurred, and law enforcement does not have the time, resources or motivation to follow up on 99% of false rape accusations even when they are confident the accusations were false. As a result, it is rare that a false accuser is charged, and the vast majority of false accusations never make it into the reportable statistics because they are never proven to be false.
So while I agree with you that rapes are underreported, and that it is a significant problem, it also concerns me that so few people are aware of the scope of the problem of false rape accusations and how unnderreported they are as well.
I also have a problem with the fact that when a rape charge is dropped due to lack of evidence, the popular assumption is that another guilty rapist got off the hook when in fact in many of those cases it was the accuser who got off the hook. As my sister-in-law, who is a detective, told me, when there is a lack of evidence in a rape case, it is often because there was never a rape in the first place.
