Also the mandate is to wear the mask until you're seated you stupid fucks hahaha. Obviously you can't eat with a mask on. The point is to lower the probability of someone at one table contaminating another table by coffing or sneezing as they traverse the store. If the person has covid their contamination can stay in one spot and be cleaned by the busser between tables being sat.

On one hand, I don't want ANYONE to be screamed at when they're trying to eat in a restaurant, or at all, really. That's unlikely to solve or improve anything.

On the other hand, these lockdowns are ridiculous. Even the CDC and, more recently, Fauci, have stated that those kinds of things should be used only in the very last resort and only where absolutely necessary, yet a bunch of governors are going FAR past those guidelines. Here in CA, we're supposed to be locked in our homes for the next 3 weeks, though virtually no one is following those orders individually, and most businesses are only following them because they risk losing their business otherwise.

But the lockdowns haven't (and were never expected to) stop the spread of COVID - just slow it down a little - and they HAVE killed tens of thousands of businesses already and will likely kill tens of thousands more over the next year, because even if a business manages to survive the actual period of the lockdown, their savings and credit may have been strained to the point that they can't handle the next challenge that faces them and end up bankrupt anyway, because COVID lockdowns bled them dry. It's also predicted that millions of people will starve to death because COVID lockdowns disrupted the food supply in various ways - but that's okay, because we had to save a few thousand people in the US?

So many businesses have spent every spare cent to make their business safer as directed by the government, and then the government pulls their plug anyway. That's just WRONG, and it's going to generate HUGE tax bills that ALL OF US will end up paying in the form of increased taxes and higher fees for everything you can imagine. Just wait...
