Cowardice is planning that if danger happens, you will run and hide and someone in a uniform with a gun will come save you since you're too pathetic to protect yourself.

If you know the history of America, the second amendment that protect our right to own and bear arms was written to protect ourselves from a tyrant government.

The 2nd amendment was made in case the first failed. Meaning, if the government came a tyrannically regime (as we are now) then we would fight to kick them out and replace them with a government that feared the people.
Guns are for badasses. It's our 2nd Amendment. If you don't have a gun because you are afraid or think it's wrong and dangerous, you a sissy. Especially if you are a man.
