I am more of a lone wolf nowadays. I prefer to live alone, work alone, enjoy hobbies alone and drive alone. I want to have family but I have friends but I am very selective and they have to come to me if they want to hang out. I am like this because I learned throughout my life so far that the only person I can trust with every cell in my body is myself.

I can see why people would see it as a bit of an odd lifestyle. They assume that there is something wrong with me if I am not surrounded by people who want to kiss my ass at all times.

I think the biggest problem is the concept of the "lone wolf" applied by humans.

Most of the people that use the term as something to be proud, at the same time speak of others like they are only brainless sheep that doesn't question anything.

This is, of course, an egocentric and naive way of thinking.

Everyone is a lone wolf in someway, everyone has fears, insecurities, dreams, loves, and everyone has to face at least a few of them alone, like a lone wolf.

There is nothing bad about being introverted, and not letting yourself be taken by the flow. However, people can notice when your way of thinking is the one of a teenager that thinks the world is a movie and he/she is the protagonist while everyone else is nothing but side casts.

People dont want to be seen by others as brainless sheep, they want to be seen as equals, as brothers and sisters.

The lone wolf is not special and must not be strange to humbleness.

Because society tends to punish lone wolves for going against the norms that has been established. That if they do not conform, they are not worth the time or investment or something is wrong with them and people being social creatures do not want to be isolated.

Me personally? I am okay with being a lone wolf. I have what I need, my network of people and friends that I enjoy spending time with. People who hate lone wolves for no reason are laughable, honestly.

Because they feel safer in a flock than as a person who thinks for themselves, forms their own opinions and ultimately is able to differentiate good from bad with a critical eye on things.

The made up term sheeple is more than fitting for these sorry excuses for human beings.

Conformity is stifling to a lone wolf. It is tolerated so that he can achieve some other goals more easily but it is never truly accepted. There has always been a focus to conform and it needs to be done to some degree to thrive. I am a lone wolf and in many ways I don’t have a choice as it is just natural to me. It is who I am. A lone wolf wouldn’t care if there are fewer or more of them. It’s a hard thing to count anyway given that sometimes a lone wolf needs to wear sheep’s clothing.

Because of globalization and the need to belong and to fit in that it creates. So people blindly conform to anything.
