What's the most impressive display of mental fitness you've seen?

This is definitely high up there for me, having the mental fitness after having all of that horrific damage done to his body and having his jugular torn so wide open (I've never seen nor heard of a single person having their jugular CUT and surviving, much less having it torn as severely as his was in this accident) and he put his thumb into his neck to keep from bleeding to death. The standard 50 BMG pressure is 50,000 PSI, this counterfeit SLAP round had no less than 162,520 PSI to do what it did to the gun and to him. I'm extremely thankful that he made it and I hope that if anything ever happens to me, I'll have half the mental strength that he did that day and there will be nothing that can kill me.

In person, I had a friend who managed to somehow break his arm on a frontside air (skateboard) on a vert ramp. This is way stupider than it might sound to non-skaters because you can see exactly where you're going when you go frontside. He walked it off like a champ though and sat through the whole skate tournament and even had beers for the rest of the night. Then went to the hospital the next day and his whole right arm was shattered.
