Why is the C word considered move offensive in American culture than Australian?

Question

I’m an Aussie woman and here the c word is used both as an offensive slur and also as a term of endearment like mate for example. But in America it is deemed as really offensive and basically the worst thing one could say to a woman. Help me understand? Why is the slur so much worse in American culture?

It's the same here in Canada as America too but that's just an unfortunate result of being the only Commonwealth to be Americanized by proximity.
I'm half German (mother is from Stuttgart) and I remember when I dated a German woman from Munich once she tossed the C word around like it was nothing and hated the word "pussy".
Guess it's just a North American colloquialism.
And in case anyone asks it in their head while reading this, no, I am not American. I am North American. But I am not fucking American.
Fucking hate being born into a country that I don't even fit into. But I don't fit into Germany either.

Because Americans are whiny and weak and manipulative and now a single spoken word is weaponized and used to destroy the speaker IF the speaker is of a different political flavor than the self-righteous ass that disagrees with them.
If the speaker is friends with the self-righteous shit they have nothing to worry about.
And... if someone simply disagrees with the self-righteous fuck they can accuse someone of having said an offensive word and still try to destroy their life.

I think it’s just used more frequently in Australia than in US and so people are just used to hearing it. I don’t know a lot of people that use it openly here in the US.

Just curious, is there one swear word that’s generally considered way more offensive in Australia?

as an American woman I don't find it offensive at all, if you use the d word or other c word and refuse to say and or get offended at the c word in question or the p word 1 you are getting upset over fairly harmless words 2 you're being pretty sexist and hypocritical

I don't get it, either! Especially since "vagina" means, "Sheathe", as in: a scabbard or device specifically made only to house a sword (or, in this case (no pun intended) a dick!). You would think that feminists around the world would be up in arms over the use of "vagina" to describe what they have between their legs!!!
There was a book about 20 years ago called, "Cunt", written by a woman who says that women should EMBRACE the word because it's the only word to describe that area and has no other meaning. Besides, vagina is such a clumsy word! The other is very short, sharp and to the point! And, in either case, you KNOW what part of the body is being talked about so, what's the big secret?

Well what is a term that is deemed really offensive in Australia? Chances are its rare use made it more offensive (your not desensitized to it) and thus created a self feeding loop as it was deemed more offensive due to rareness and thus was rarely used. I only use it when its some one who is really bad (though I've begun to use it more often when pissed off in the past few years). So I cannot really say as to why other then scarcity of use.

I am not sure. I read an article on the etymology of that word a few years ago. Their theory was that the word is a corruption of an earlier word "cunned" meaning shaped like a triangle. The root is the same as "cuniform." It was originally used as an adjective. Now it is used as noun.

It's not used in the U. S. outside of an offensive fashion; serving alongside the Kiwis in Afghanland was harder than serving with the French, the differences in culture seem more divided with a common language.
