These celebrations often result in police violence and detention in my country. For example, a football player was subjected to psychological violence for wearing this t-shirt. Some fucking journalists said that he should not be on the national football team. Oddly enough he's not gay. lolThis man was just sitting in a cafe at the place where the celebrations were held. I guess it wasn't enough to detain the celebrants and they detained him too.This is the ''I'm tired of this shit'' look lolPersonally, these celebrations don't bother me at all. On the contrary, I appreciate them defending their rights despite all the pressures. But as far as I can see, there is quite a bit of homophobia on this site as well. Is that so?
How are the pride month celebrations going in your country?
Hmm... Our college is using it as a big opportunity for ad revenue and trying to make money from it... it's rather sickening and in fact all the LGBTQ+ people in our college are rather angry about it.
I never even celebrated it, my friends asked me why I don't celebrate it even though I am Bisexual and I said I didn't even know what day it was on, I also have no interest in trying to put my sexual preference on a pedestal, I told him that you don't see straight month, right? So why do I need one for my sexual preference? I don't.
I don't care if others want to enjoy it, but the whole country, outside of my college, has been advertising it EVERYWHERE. It won't stop mentioning it, I don't see a lot of people making a big deal of it, even people I know that are in the LGBTQ+ community and they just don't care, but for some reason it is advertising all over the place. It is possible that they are just not openly enjoying it in public and only celebrating online... otherwise how would we have so many people celebrating this thing.

Personally I could care less what people do, if they choose to be gay or lesbian, Bi or polygamist or polyamories or whatever so long as they are all consenting.
What really bugs me about the movements is somehow its a rite of passage to 'come out' as gay or lesbian, they claim they do it to feel normal... yet hetero people don't come out.
I highly respect people who are gay who say it is nobody else's business. They do not need to come out.
As for celebrations, don't see any of those around here.

In Singapore there’s parades, movie screenings, performances, there’s a lot of pink too everybody goes to pink dot where there’s performances and stuff (They do a lot considering how strict and ridiculous LGBT laws are here)
We also celebrate pride month in Japan, it’s not as big as Singapore, but there’s still a parade and everything, there's also parade in Taiwan as well (they recently legalized same-sex marriage too!)
Well I live in Canada so things are peaceful here. But nobody has really paid attention to it this year because we have a serious problem anyway that's siphoning all of our attention. The ghosts of our past are coming back to torment us in the form of mass graves being found of the bodies of indian children who were abused and murdered by Christian colonizers and the Catholic church years back. Sounds about right for where you live. Here were open and fine with it because we don't want to abide by religious laws. We rather abide by do what you want longs if it don't hurt anyone. I have never seen a man go out on the street and fight with the police for his masculinity or for a woman's femininity. But LGBT demonstrations sound ridiculous. Why are you trying to force people to dictate your sexual identity? Of course, it's only natural that you get a reaction in return. In this case, I cannot blame the police because they are trying to ensure the peace of the country by doing their duty and it is obvious that those who disturb the peace with such demonstrations.
I don´t know much. Because of Covid there aren´t real celebrations. The national soccer supported it during the European championchip and most comments online made fun of it.

We cannot compare them to heterosexuals. Are heterosexuals discriminated against because of their sexual orientation? I don't think so. The problem is not just that they're in the foreground. There are those who hate them for reasons such as religion and culture.

If done right, perhaps it can. the issue is that those who push for love are too naiive usually. If you've heard of the dark and light triad, the true power lies in those that can balance both. It is 100% possible to hate somebody or a specific group or something because you love something more important/worthy. The problem is that Turkey is not Iran or Arabia. Our Constitution says, everyone has the right to hold unarmed and peaceful meetings and demonstration marches without prior permission.
