But if your son or daughter is in the US illegally, they will pay in-state tuition at that very same college/university.
(I chose those states randomly, so don't get focused on those states)

Its completely unfair but perfectly reasonable if your singular goal is to buy off illegals with the promise of free shit to get you elected. its bullshit but the only thing we can do is just immediatley vote out people who think this is okay (about time politicians start representing the people instead of every one that isn't an American citizen).
Instate tuition is based on where the person and the person's family pays taxes. If they pay taxes instate, they pay instate tuition. A person living in California illegally, and paying taxes in California, will pay out of state tuition in Colorado.
And what about those who don't pay taxes?
It's based on the student's primary residence and what each state determines to be the guidelines to follow. Universities are required to follow the laws of the state. They don't have a say in regard to the law, but they do have a say if they choose to give scholarships... which are usually based on special achievements in academic or sports. Someone brought illegally to this country as a baby shouldn't be punished for the actions of the parents. If they work hard and are productive members of society, there's no reason to prevent them from continuing to add to society. I'm not saying to reward those who are a drain on society, but let's not lump everyone together and condemn them all. I'm sure you don't like it when you hear people say "all females..."
And what about those who don't pay any taxes?

Totally unfair. And someone ought to take a look at everything being given to people in the US illegally, including US citizenship for their kids.
If only we had politicians that were tough enough to do that. I'm a firm believer in term limits, even though we might lose some good people.
Lobbying should be illegal. But I don't see how our "president" can be elected after serving a half a century in politics. The first thing he did after getting elected, was to fuck up the border.
That's why I want term limits. Let JoJo go back to the private sector and practice law. I'm sure he'd get tons of clients.
He could be in Corn Pop commercials.
Of course its unfair :P
The states should just make an extra tax for those who thinks it fair, let them pay for the illegals education. And if you don't to pay for that you lose your right to say you think its fair
The people who think it would be fair, would NEVER be willing to use their own money to pay for it.
Of course it's not fair or right. It's just one more example of incentivizing illegal entry into the country.
