I take my son who lives with me. He has a state ID took 5 minutes and DMV. He can't drive i work so much i had only 2 or 3 days off a month. We vote every time. If i was at wotk on election day i had a ballot sent to him and i. How can you say its racist? Your thought plesse.

Does it matter how easy or hard it is to obtain a photo-ID if for whatever reason people will not do it? I mean you could argue why or why not but this is still a fact of the matter. Furthermore there is no benefit to using photo-ID and I can prove that because you would need to give more funding and special training to the staff at poll locations to actually benefit from the extra layer of a photo-ID for security and you can bet your ass that the Republicans would never fund something that does not funnel money into corrupt pockets.

So in effect, this is a pointless policy that only serves to effectively lower the number of votes from specific groups of people who just oh so happens to mostly be of certain races and political leanings. Yes its racist.

The motive for voter ID isn't to stop fraud, because there's virtually no voter fraud and what little there is wouldn't be prevented by a voter id. The motive is to disenfranchise voters and to suppress minority votes. That's the point.

Depends on the motivation behind it. For a lot of people, they believe that voter ID will diminish the minority vote and that’s why they support it. The fraud claims are just a cover for darker motives. In those cases, yes, there would be racist intentions behind it but obviously you can’t paint everyone with that same brush.

Well let me provide you with another argument against you then. A photo-ID does not provide a higher election security or integrity. For this to even have a chance to be successful you need to pair it with additional funding and training for the staff in poll stations. Something that Republicans have not done.

These photo-ID laws is like demanding people get credit cards but not install any card readers to use them. Its pointless and only serves to create further complications for voting which will discourage voters.

Also its just a fact that Republicans have rigged the voting system for generations. They even created states just so they could have additional electoral votes and representatives. Its much too late to try talk about fairness just because you can't cheat efficiently enough to win.

It adds more steps to the registration process, which are easy to know about in rural areas where people have more time on their hands. But in dense cities where everone is struggling to get by, people might be unaware of the new hoop put in place for them to jump through and may not have even brought their ID with them. It just happens that denser cities have a higher proportion of black people and that the conservative part passing these laws has a history of legislating poll watchers and such things. It's hard to beloeve they aren't just at it again. Especially considering they seem strangely opposed to issuing ID at the polling place.
