Mr Freeman is 100% correct. Growing up and going through my school system, race was basically a non-issue and it was largely because nobody talked about it or cared. Interracial marriages and kids were pretty common but nobody batted an eye over it, because the general consensus was people are people and we have different pursuits Things have done a total reversal and now EVERYTHING is portrayed through a frame of perceived, often baseless racism and predictably, we're right back to 1960s-level animosity especially in the cities.

None of that is to say that it'll ever be 100% gone; that's just completely unrealistic to ever expect in a population of millions, especially in a multicultural society with predatory politicians and media figures looking to stir the pot for their own gains.

I don't agree because you can never fix, address, or compensate for something that people aren't educated about or have the chance to express the side effects and ramifications of the chain of events that occurred because of racism. People's lives, mental health, livelihoods, heritage etc are being threatened and targeted.

I'm white, I had some black friends who were uncomfortable with me NOT saying it. I grew up on the street with poor people of every race. Most people used the word to mean friend, enemy, stranger, shit, and just as a comma.
