People for this law are all about the life of the unborn, but when you are born, then fuck you. Of course abortion is a morally grey thing. It's not a good thing. But what's the alternative? Fucking someone else's life who's not ready to have a child, or doesn't want one? And what if the child is being given to adoption and thrown from one foster family to the next and things suck? Of course not all adopted children lives suck, but it can, things can get messy. And being told you were put to adoption because your parents didn't want you can be deeply scarring.

Having a children is a big deal. Whoever is having one should be ready for it, want it, so as to give your child as much love as possible and make his/her life as best as possible. Of course shitty people willingly have kids all the time. This is not the point. The point is that every child should be at least wanted and welcomed into the world. Otherwise that's a very bad beginning.

And the guy can just walk away and let the girl deal with it. Which is incredibly unfair. Life is unfair and it is our job to make things as best and equal as possible for everyone. If only for gender equality should women have that right. No one should be forced into such a commitment for stupid mistakes or because the condom broke or something like that.

Calling a fetus human or not is just a matter of definition. Even if it has a heartbeat and can feel pain, I think there are much worse things to do in the world than to take the life of something that has not even lived one second out of the womb. Do you remember your time there? No. Death is probably very quick anyway. It's not great of course, but it's better than potentially fucking the life of at least 2 people (including the child).

So much attention is put to the life of the unborn, but once you are born, the State couldn't care any less. They'll willingly sent you to your possible death at 18 in a country whose name you probably can't spell or put on a map. They'll let you get crippled by debt if you have any health issues because of how the health system sucks. They'll potentially fuck your life by sending you to prison with hard-time criminal for petty offenses regarding fucking weed, while all these people putting laws like this enjoy their very expensive wines. Life is hard as it is, let's not put unwanted children out there, I'm sure they'll thank you for that. For the same reason every time you ejaculate shouldn't result in a kid.

Sorry, I really wanna clarify a line that could be construed wrong. I am not saying all guys or even yourself are rapists, this line may be more clear by me saying all sexually active men should have a vasectomy if that is the case. A woman can only get pregnant once every 9 months (well.. TECHNICALLY it could happen more than once, but for argument sake we will say one). A guy can impregnate in theory as many women as he sleeps with, including multiple in a single night.

The thing is though, the parents weren't forced to have sex unless they were sexually assaulted which is a different matter all together. Three reasons why I voted Yes:
1. I'm not a philosopher, but there's a chance that personhood might begin at conception. If it does, it's important how we treat that person. Killing a person should be a last resort. We give years of thought to whether we should execute multiple murderers. I have to go through a ridiculous amount of paperwork to kill an animal in an experiment, a creature that has no potential of ever gaining self awareness. It's not fair that killing a potential human is easier and should go through with ZERO questions asked.

3. Since this law makes an exception for rape, we are talking about consensual sex. When you consent to sex, you are accepting the responsibility that there will be consequences of that sex. If you do not want these consequences, then simply don't have sex. Close your legs. It's 100% effective. If you're bored go play some tennis or swim some laps - don't create the miracle of life and then destroy it.

4. The law isn't even that bad, it fits with the majority of western nations, people are acting like it bans abortions. It permits abortions up to birth in the majority of cases (rape, incest, medical including psychological). I'm not totally against abortion and neither is this bill. Abortion is not a positive or neutral event, and it shouldn't be treated as such.

A woman should be legally required to have a signature stating who will be financially responsible for raising the child within 6 weeks of becoming pregnant. It's a contract that can be signed by the man or woman, either before or after having sex. If she is unable to provide this, she should be legally required to abort the fetus within 6 weeks. Violation of these laws should be a crime punishable by forced sterilization. Birth control should also be free and available to all since some people are incapable of abstinence.

Yes it's a woman's body but it takes two to tango and two to raise a child. Sex is reproduction not recreation. Sex and parenthood are things that are taken way too lightly by society. Therefore bringing a child into the world that will have a messed up childhood, live on welfare, and become a criminal, should be a crime punished by sterilization. Anyone that's unwilling to support their own child has a high chance of sociopath genes and shouldn't reproduce. Even if a child has financial support does not mean it will have emotional and intellectual support, so the financial requirement is a bare minimum.

Abortion is a tricky subject because at some point in a fetus' development it becomes a human being, and killing it after that point is obviously murder. But the question is... when does it become a human being? Religious nutters with say it's at the moment of conception, but I don't buy that because it is functionally no different than the sperm and the egg were before they met.

Libtards will argue that it is not a human being until after birth. But again, I see no difference between a baby just before birth and just after birth.

There has to be some point in time / development where the fetus becomes a human being, and to me, the point at which there is a detectable heartbeat is as good a point as any. And six weeks is enough time for the mother to make a decision about whether she wants to abort.

I was going to refrain from leaving a comment here about this because, among other reasons, it's about something happening in Texas, a place far from where I live, but stuff it, I will.
I don't know much about this 'Senate Bill 8', but from what I've seen so far I support it 100%! No one - and I mean NO ONE - has the "right" to murder (let's not use the disgusting euphemisms "terminate" or "abort") their child. It isn't the child's fault you would make a lousy mother, or can't keep your damn legs closed. If you don't want children then don't do anything that may result in you ending up with one.
As for the argument "my body my choice", well that's just it; it isn't your body, it's the body of someone else you're destroying.
