Why do liberals believe whatever their politicians tell them?

Liberals who live in places that have been locked down for a year and a half are blaming their situation on those of us who live in places that went back to normal in the summer of 20.

Our politicians believe in freedom. Y'all's politicians want power and control and they're telling you it's our fault that they're using power and control. And y'all eat it up like cake.

It’s a combination of many things from myriad perspectives. I’ll try to list some that all of them have.
They do zero research on their own, many already have their mind made up, extremely selfish, naive, some do it on purpose because they think it’s a game (the worst people), some people are ok with taking someone at their word, they are lonely and just want to feel apart of something (going trans example). They’re generally weak minded people who cannot think for themselves. It’s why when they talk to us, it’s always Authoritarian where they have a need to always control the Narrative, they don’t study history, don’t reread what they wrote.
Sometimes I think some people don’t even know the words that are coming out of their mouth. They aren’t open-minded enough, don’t look at things objectively, many don’t believe in God, etc.
“Rationalization is the second strongest human drive” This is what they do and most people in general have done at one point or another in their life.

I wish they would study their history. Heck, you could look back one year from now and today you would see who lied and who told the truth.

Like just a year ago, Democrats were blocking vaccines for people to take. They were so against it under Trump, but now they did a full 180. Now, the universal consensus is that it’s time to start opening the cans of whoop-ass on the vaccine-hesitant, yanking services and civil liberties from those murderous holdouts who are, the president tells us, “killing people.”
How can you not see the con?

What’s being played out in real time in front of us is a page taken from the Saul Alinsky playbook. Make a mild virus appear much worse than it really is. Push FEAR. Use the media to further divide everyone (Divide & Conquer), while those in Power push forth with their entirely different agenda that screws all of us. Unless you’re in the 1%, you’re not part of the group, Liberal.

You’re what Jonathan Gruber calls a “useful idiot” when he wrote Obamacare. He said they were only able to pass Obamacare because of the “stupidity of the American voter.” I wonder how many of you Libs knew that?
I know a couple other times where your own leaders have called you dumb (AOC is one), yet you blindly support them. Why?
The funny thing is many of you tell us constantly that “Trump doesn’t care for us.” Odd, how that is?

I agree.
All my life I had what I considered to be liberal values. But I considered it to be a state of mind, not a fucking political platform. I thought it meant being open minded, tolerant, and willingness to consider new ideas. I supported the civil rights and early women's lib movements, opposed the war, and distrusted authority. I oppose all forms of bigotry, support equal justice under the law, and value liberty.

But "Liberalism" has gone completely off the rails. It was co-opted by the Democratic party, whose values have been the opposite of liberal since the 1980s and gotten nothing but worse. It is full blown neoliberal, anti-liberty, pro-war and imperialism, and disdains the constitution and Bill of Rights. Those people who call themselves liberal but are actually just loyal Democrats are brain dead. Because they live in fear, they embrace any kind of authoritarianism that promises them safety and security. And they long to force others to comply with their opinions without any doubt in their minds that they might not have all the information or thought things out completely. They know they are right because their "liberal" media sources and circle of friends all agree.

Many of my friends used be liberal. But over the past 5 or 6 years, I have discovered that even those with Master's degrees and doctorates get all of their information from mainstream media and reject all other sources. They trust government, "security agencies", and everything they are told by the consensus manufacturing msm echo chamber. In other words, they are completely brainwashed. They can't even think for themselves.

These days I have more friends who identify as conservative who are more open minded and informed than many of my liberal friends.

I have connected with people across the political spectrum, of all races, ethnicities and religious persuasions, who are intelligent and very informed and can come together as one family in defense of liberty and justice. The smartest people have rejected ideology and partisanship entirely. But I agree that many liberals are, to steal a phrase, deplorable. They disgust me.

Do they? Are you sure about that? ... I think they believe what science & doctors tell them actually.
The places that want to 'get back to normal' are generally unvaccinated, & clearly this has become a pandemic among of the unvaccinated; as it no coincidence that it's these same places where Covid infection rates & deaths are the highest. They are trying the patience of healthcare workers by selfishly filling up & over-burdening the hospitals, which is frustrating, & especially selfish because it's 100% preventable - That's a fact. So they DO deserve blame.
PLUS, the more bodies that remain unvaccinated gives the virus more chances at transmission, & the more transmissions give the virus more time to mutate, which creates variants, which then in turn affects everyone because it renders those who have been vaccinated vulnerable. So they DO deserve blame. It has NOTHING to do with your 'freedom' - not when everyone else in the society you live in is affected.

And, for the record, y'alls politicians don't believe in freedom at all. They believe in group-think blind allegiance to one repugnant asshole, TrumpTard (the orange buffoon)- & certainly not other's freedom by gerrymandering districts & restricting voter access, all in the name of holding power -- So you might wanna fact check y'alls claims, before you broadcast in public y'alls ignorance (you said it, not me).

Well, there are at least two things at play here:

1) They hate conservatives so much that they don't care about things like rights, due process, facts that don't agree with their caricatures, or anything else really other than demonizing and oppressing conservatives (in some cases worse than merely oppressing).

2) They deliberately pretend not to know a lot of things that everyone knows
