I have reinforced "kick proof" doors here, as well as a video surveillance system with motion sensors. I'm armed here as well, but I don't worry about it too much because of the area of where I live and because it's rare anyone wants to break into a funeral home. There were several home invasions (doors kicked in to gain access) in the area where I lived before. My door got kicked in twice, once when I wasn't home and once when I was. The landlord wouldn't pay what it cost to put in reinforced doors.

Nah.
My old roommate and I actually had this bad habit of leaving the door unlocked 😬
As of now I live in a safe area and you need to have a code or be buzzed into my apartment building.
That's one of the reasons why I prefer apartments over houses.
If someone is intent on entering your home, nothing short of Fort Knox type of alarm systems will hinder them. In order to make that dead-bolt better, you will have to replace the door and casing with steel. Secure it with self-taping screws that reach into the main structure of the building. If you MUST shoot someone, make sure it's inside your home.
Hurricanes typically encourage concrete walls with steel impact doors and windows that are anchored with tapcons into the concrete... You can get in with brute force, but someone will definitely notice...

Door security classifications are I believe 1-7 with 1 being most secure, mine is a 1 with extras lol. This reminds me of a very interesting security presentation at Shakacon.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4YYvBLAF4T8I don't have one where I live with my parents. I live in an apartment building with my parents. But I'm now in my dorm room in college and I think my door has a dead bolt on it
We don't bother locking the door unless we're leaving the house for a few hours.
Don't think anyone is going to try break in to my tiny apartment
No. Iāve never had people try to bash my door open, why were they trying to do that to you?
Oh no. My door frame has been kicked in and is now just a massive plank of wood in my hands. What ever can I do to stop these people armed with feet while I hold this massive plank of wood.
I have a metal door and metal door frame. No one is coming in. Also added an extra deadbolt to the top of my door. What a pain in a metal door.
Did you catch them?
I call bullshit.
You so right
