It's a tribe and part of a large uptick of tribalism has going on for several years now. It's gone past the point where many people are not able to see what is happening. Tribes on both sides are trying to win by taking extreme measures to beat the other. Politics is also a great example of this as well. The right an left are resorting to extreme measures to beat each other. But there are no winners in the end. Because everyone will have to deal with the fallout that the extreme measures both sides took in a effort to win.

I totally agree that Wokeness is not the only religious cult/tribalism happening. Anytime people stop thinking for themselves it's not a good thing. But I guess it's easier for people to pick a side and blindly believe everything that side preaches. Myself... I favor things that promote the longterm health of society & civilization over experiments but I'll consider facts that go against my ideas too. Often I find that people are focused on symptoms 2 or 3 out of 20 to some problem and they don't even understand the real problem at all.

Yes and people will end up focused on the rest of the 20 issues they are skipping over. When they have become so bad they are forced to focus on them. It's like a building with a crumbling foundation. The cracks in the walls and other issues are simply symptoms of a much bigger issue. It doesn't actually qualify as a Religious Cult nor Non-Religious Cult but it definitely comes close. One of the qualities of a cult is "The group has a polarized, us-versus-them mentality, which may cause conflict with the wider society". This is true with the "Woke" and "SJW" nonsense. They hate everyone except people that think the same way as them and are volatile to anyone else. They even believe in ideas that conflict with science, history, and sociology.

Another quality for a cult is "Members are encouraged or required to live and/or socialize only with other group members." This one is also true. People that live by this ideology only befriend others who are part of that ideology. If you have the "wrong opinions" then they don't want anything to do with you.

The "woke" don't really have any other characteristics that cults have though. But, it definitely is a dangerous ideology that won't stop till the whole entire world crumbles and they're the only ones left standing.
