However, what really gives that zygote life, is the mother's decision to keep the baby.
When she decides to bring a life into this world, is HER choice as mother. It is her choice and only her choice. No man can choose for her. No GOVERNMENT can choose for her.
The functions of her body, the ability to grow a human being inside of herself, is HER BODY. Yet religious people want to use government power to force a mother to bring to term a baby that she does not want. That she does not feel is the proper time in her life to bring a baby into this world.
And these religious people want to ban abortion because they think God will send you to hell to scream and burn for all eternity. Which is compete nonsense. The concept of hell in the bible is not real. It has long since been debunked.
You want to save the baby, to save the mother from a fate in hell. It's nonsense. It doesn't exist. There is no hell.

The functions of the law are a result of (ideally anyways) REASON.

Not for the reasons she has provided, but you guys did seem to get triggered because she wouldn't answer your enormous paragraphs, so I can understand why she didn't want to read them because, fuck that. You guys also jumped down her neck because she factually told you that you don't have a cervix so she won't argue with you about something to do with the cervix, which I think is fair. It's kind of like if you let women decide if having the snip should be allowed or not, they don't have a penis so why should they get to make that decision. The assault/rapist thing was a bit unnecessary though.

Abortion rates have been actually going down in the USA in the last 20 years. That’s not because of pro life legislation. That’s because young people are getting better educated on sex Ed and effective birth control is more widely available. There was a time plan B was not available over the counter.
What i don’t get is why can’t BOTH sides focus on preventing the unwanted pregnancy from happening in the first place? I’m not talking just abstinence either. I’m talking about an intensive focus on effective contraceptives. Also there should be more research in further improving birth control (scientists are getting close to offering 100% effective birth control).
But why the hell is no one open to discussing that strategy? Why is it always one side or the other?

Now getting back to pregnancy and having a life changing event. I highly doubt the vast majority of these women (besides a few twisted sickos) take any real pleasure or pride in having an abortion. Virtually any sane women doesn’t want an unwanted pregnancy in the first place.
That is why I think both sides are missing the entire f*cking point. Society and politics needs to focus intensively on effective contraceptives. They say no birth control is 100% effective but they are getting very close. I might be conservative but I fully support state sponsored birth control all the way up to plan B. I think any girl of any age (even middle schoolers as gross as that sounds) should be able to get birth control without parental consent. Rather be safe than sorry.
But both sides ignore that solution. But I think it’s possible to drastically reduce unwanted pregnancies if we just focused on a legitimate solution. Contraceptives prevent bigger problems from happening.
