Yes. My brother by technical definition is considered transsexual, at least for now, and he is more conservative. He was born with an intersex medical condition where he has XXY chromosomes and a male brain but was born with female sex organs. He always knew he was male but my parents wouldn't believe him until he was a teenager and didn't have a typical female period. When they examined him at the doctor, they eventually realized he was intersex and he got his chromosomes analyzed out of curiosity. He technically does fit under the label transsexual for now because he is going through the process of a sex change so that he can have the correct male sex organs. He has to put that he is transgender on legal documents so the the insurance with cover his surgeries. He also had to say he is transgender on the documents for his legal gender change. My brother with not be transsexual after his full sex change and he has male sex organs though. He hates having to use the word 'transgender' because he is just a guy with a birth defect in his opinion and isn't LGBT at all, which is fair. But he is pretty much forced to use that label before his official sex change. My brother is more conservative because he prefers traditional gender roles and tends to agree with more of their policies. He doesn't agree with all conservative stances though, like he is in favor of giving gay people marriage rights, transsexual people the right to get a sex change, and agrees that there should be more gun regulation. He believes everyone should have equal rights, even if people find their lifestyle unusual. However, on most other policies he agrees with conservatives, for example he is pro life for ethical and moral reasons. I am pretty much in agreement with him on those topics. He also met quite a few transgender people at his college who are more conservative. Not everyone who is conservative hates LGBT people and is against giving them equal rights. Most conservatives that I have talked to aren't homophobic or racist. It's just the more conservative extremists and media who push a judgmental view of those that are different. Also, I know some very liberal people who are sexist and racist. They are extreme feminists at my work who literally told me they hate men, white people, and Asians.

+1 yYes. It does seem strange but I believe so. Political views and sexuality are 2 different things. I do not believe anyone is born gay or trans or anything in the LGBTQYHFGNMTEW area. I believe it’s a choice. I believe politics are a choice as well. It also possible to be completely conservative and have one exception. That you support that.
Things are very polarized here in America politically. There used to be a huge middle ground in between the left and right but that is quickly evaporating. The left demands you agree with all their rhetoric. Many people who were democrats are going to be pushed into voting conservative and will likely end up being conservative. The left has gone so extreme they have seriously alienated many people who are on the left who are left with no choice but to vote Republican as they do not support the woke doctrines. They will become exposed more and more to conservative ideology and eventually they will see that most of it makes complete sense over time. They’re seeing a nation cannot function with this type of ideology in place.
Many who voted for Biden are displeased. They simply wanted Trump Gone. Yeah, Trump acted like a child but most of his policy’s were sound. Many who voted for Biden bought the lies that Trump and his politics were far to extreme to the right. This is largely influenced by the media in every medium, but they’re seeing this is nuts. Many of these same people seem to be unaware of how extreme the left is. They thought Biden was more moderate and would do the standard things Democrats did prior to Obama that they did politically. I think many of these people were ignorant (despite there being ample evidence) of how extreme and deranged the left is and what they are trying to do. In fact there was an Article in news week about how they deliberately influenced people by misrepresenting things in the last presidential election. However, it seems many who voted for Biden were blissfully unaware of the madness that they were going to get.
Now they’re seeing. So yes, certainly someone can have that sexual preference and still be largely conservative in their other views.00 Reply
Conservativism is not only about lgbt. I'd say that's the least important part of it, one that the liberals solely are obsessed with. Meanwhile most conservatives even if they don't agree with lgbt, do not care about it. This guy is just making a show out of it so he's being dramatic but we really don't care. Or rather wouldn't care, if we weren't bombarded with it from every side.
Also, since many conservatives are Christian and that's where the dislike might come from - as Christians we're told to love the person and hate the sin. Sure there are some more outspoken people but again... most of them don't care to engage in this debate as long as you and your lgbtism leave them alone.00 Reply
+1 yIt's common to see people sharing the same socio-economical ideologies with people who hate them. This would be similar to Atheists who are pro-life, and thus making them share the same interest as Evangelical Christians who believe Atheists burn in hell. The justification for pro-life might be different for the two, but both reach the same conclusion regardless of identity.

What Girls & Guys Said
Opinion

6K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. I see the trans thing as an inherently conservative thing, myself. Or at least it ticks all the boxes for things I associate conservativism with.
1. Tells women that what men think men want is the standard of beauty.
2. Favors rich people who can afford an expensive transition.
3. Skirts around the sin of homosexuality, as the claim is they are straight but the wrong gender.
4. Correctly identifying someone as a girl was something no one concerned themselves with until white men came along demanding to be called a girl.
5. Instead of trying to diminish gender roles the trans thing actually leans into them.
6. The "texture" of the very male insecurity I've encountered in trans women is indistinguishable from the texture of the insecurity that defines all the conservative men I've met. That is a sort of despair over how all the effort one put into dreaming of being a rock star (or whatever) didn't, in fact, result in becoming a rock star. Most conservative men react to this with anger toward those for whom hard work did pay off and a kind of increased adulation of those who inherited fortunes without earning it. Trans men seem to react by, instead, wanting someone to take care of them (gender role). But it's still just another reaction to the same insecurity.
7. Requires belief in something contrary to evidence. This is more akin to religion than conservativism, but the two do tend to intertwine more than makes any sense for two things that are so toxic for one another. But the toxic relationship between conservativism and religion does at least make the toxic relationship between conservativism and trans people not unique.01 Reply- +1 y
Oh, I forgot to mention, the main thing that makes trans people incompatible with conservativism, as you sort of alluded to, was that conservatives do not believe in equal protection of the law. Whatever trans people want from society isn't going to matter if people are allowed to beat them to death. And liberals seem to be the only ones who seem to take that seriously.
But the instant police start getting press for aggressively solving anti trans crimes I expect the entire trans community will change their party affiliation to Republican. Police don't even have to actually solve anything. Just the announcement that they are would give trans people the belief. And their whole thing is belief is more important that reality.
There are many in the LGBT+ community that are conservative. Personally, I know a trans man that is a great buddy of mine and we go fishing together every weekend on my boat. This guy and the trans people he surrounds himself with are the reason I hold the views I have which are inconsistent with the liberal view. There's also a bisexual man that's conservative that makes up my crew which I admire and respect but this question is not relevant to him.
I did ask him this question once. His response was very simple. "I may find someone that's conservative here and there that has a problem with me being born a woman but in the end they respect me and we agree to disagree. But the liberals make absolutely sure that I'm either a traitor or a shitty person for choosing to be a trans conservative. Many more liberals have made me feel worse than any conservative that's disagreed with me ever has."
I don't consider him, or respect him, as a man because he's thrown some tantrum or somehow brute-forced convinced me he's a man. I respect him as a man because he embraces those important traits of masculinity and understands what it is to be a man. If I ever ask him if he's a woman, his response is simple. "I was born with a vagina, so I'm a woman, but I'll always be more man than you." And I, as a hetero-sexual conservative, love and respect this man.
As to how any other trans individual can consider being a conservative, I don't know. Hopefully one will respond.01 Reply- +1 y
To add, this man is wholly against Trans individuals competing in cisgendered sports. Particularly trans women competing in female sports. Though we disagree with the reasons, I feel there's a biological favor towards any male born athlete, he feels that any hormonal drug treatment can potentially add an unfair advantage.
Trans is an identity which is extremely related to the self - Conservative is an ideology related to how you run your country - There are so many democrats that hate trans people or anything lgbt (just ask the majority of black people) while there are people on the right who don't even have a single problem with them - The problem is that the Republicans and democrats have been put on 2 extremes - Yea Republicans hate black people so vote for us - yea Republicans hate lgbt so vote for us - yea Republicans hate latinos vote for us - Meanwhile those same exact people have problems with each other but for their own sake they vote Democrat (again looking at you Minorities) - well of course then you have the self hating white women who want everyone to be happy (I still love you people) - the biggest scam this country has ever had to deal with - Ideologies are all on a spectrum but not in the states somehow it's either self hating white women or non white so called underdogs and queer anarchist hippies vs redneck southern accent bona-fide Christian affiliated with the kkk greedy af confederacy loving white supremist oppressors..
00 Reply5.8K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. Not really, although in today's political atmosphere, if you land anywhere to the right of Stalin or don't mindlessly accept the media narrative of the hour, you're immediately labeled as a far-right-superphobe-extremist, so it's certainly believable that a transsexual would vote in favor of a more conservative politician for various reasons even if only to oppose government expansion. Frankly most Republican politicians aren't exactly diehard conservatives, just like almost all Democrat politicians aren't really liberals by definition.
00 Reply1.2K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. There are many types of conservatives, some mainstream and some not, some who are more understanding of trans people than others. At this point, anyone who is not an intersectional leftist other than old-school Marxists will find themselves categorized as conservative. Some trans people object to sexuality or gender being an identity or being used for political ends. Some disagree with intersectional leftism. The inflexibility of progressive ideologues pushes some trans people to the right, even if they find strange bedfellows there.

u +1 yIt is. I mean, they can call themselves transgender, but still oppose abortion, believe in a strong military and national defense, want lower taxes and smaller government, and so forth.
And it's not necessarily that conservatives "can't stand" transgenders. It's that they disagree on lifestyles and life choices (though I hesitate to say simply "disagree").01 Reply milo yiannopoulos Is gay and right wing. I’m not right wing or left wing, but I’d assume it’s possible. Perhaps they’d be closeted trans gendered. I don't know the rules; I think if milo can be gay and right wing, then I’d assume yes. I don't know too much about these right wingers. Whatever happen to milo anyways?
00 ReplyI don't understand why, but yes, people can and do all sorts of things that make no sense. It's called "working against their own interest." Self-hating religious people. Anti-vaxxers. People who don't wear seatbelts. But, of course, people are more complex than all that. It's just that the real answer doesn't make for a soundbite.

Not wanting to take an experimental vaccine has nothing to do with being transgender. That statement makes no sense. Not all conservatives are hateful or religious either. I'm not religious but more conservative leaning. One of the reasons a lot. of people do not want to call themselves liberal is because a lot of liberal people like you are hypocritical and judgmental of anyone who disagrees with your opinion.
- +1 y
I didn't say vaccines and transgender had anything to do with each other. And I don't personally know anyone who is liberal that doesn't want to call themselves such. And I'm sorry the schools let you down. I was using the examples of other topics to illustrate a point. And I'm hypocritical and judgmental? Because conservatives are so warm and fuzzy and accepting of people who don't fit in their mold?
1.9K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. This all or nothing mentality is one of the biggest problems with US politics. What if you are pro gun, anti abortion, pro small government but pro transrights? What are you?
People can have beliefs that are from both sides of the political spectrum00 Reply1.9K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. Yes, I personally know two one m2f and one f2m.
Their politics have nothing to do with them being transgender, but then I live in the UK where your personal politics are your own business and is not discussed. Unlike the US where I've visited through work where it is one of the first questions asked when you meet someone new in urban areas, in rural areas they are much like the UK and could not be concerned about it.00 ReplyThe same reason why there are a lot of oppressed and poor people who are conservative. They see themselves as holding a slice of privilege and they want to defend that privilege even if it’s dehumanizing. Most conservative supporters are like this.

And to answer your update, it's because they're principled individuals, not biased. While they don't agree agree everything you'd stereotypically find in a conservative (which doesn't necessarily represent the majority of conservatives), they believe that conservative ideas are collectively more beneficial than liberal ideas.
I personally have a few qualities that many, many conservative hate and vilify with a fiery passion. Yet I'm still a conservative.
