I know who you are, OP. I also know what it's like to not like the body you were given (in my case, it's me being short; in your case, it's you not being a biological female). I can sympathize with that, as well. However, the same way I can't make people see me as being 6'5" (how I feel "on the inside"), you can't make people accept what you also wish was reality. And transpeople trying to force that onto people with language or shaming them, is only going to create more resentment and anger towards the side you're trying to get to accept you. And you ARE trying to get them to accept you; otherwise you wouldn't care.
All I can say is, focus on what you CAN change, and don't let what you can't change drag you down into depression and whatnot. As a short guy who's life would be very much happier if I was a tall and strong as I was meant to be, that's the best advice I can give you. "You catch more flies with honey than vinegar." And you make more friends and allies with respectfulness than calling them "transphobes" and forcing unnatural language onto them.
I agree although I must say I do a pretty good job at convincing people I'm female. I only get disrespected when I tell people I'm trans which I do because I want to spread awareness. But if I have to walk on eggshells or pretend to be cis to keep people from being mean to me then they want to be mean regardless of whether or not I call them cis.
It grabs negative attention when it's unneeded, just use it among your friends. If someone gets angry just from overhearing you that would be on them in that case. Sometimes it's a useful term when "not transgender" doesn't work, but it often works quite easily. More people easily understand not transgender than cisgender.
Useful:
-are you cisgender? (if you think it's more likely and want to avoid suggesting someone appears transgender when they aren't)
Not useful:
-all of my friends are cisgender (can be phrased as "none of my friends are transgender")
-they're a band of cisgender people who despite hardships decided to dedicate themselves to music and performance and are now big shots. (entirely unnecessary as most people are cisgender and it crams more terms into the sentence.)
Bonus: shortened "cis" sounds really bad and also requires previous knowledge as if it were a common word. You can avoid both problems by using the full word.

When I first heard the word “Cis” I was told it meant “comfortable in skin.” That was outrageous to me, because few people are actually completely comfortable in their own skin.
However, when I looked it up myself, I found it to mean exactly what you described. I have no issue with being referred to as Cis now that I know what it actually means.

When people say they’re something trapped in the “wrong” body. That kind of assumes that there is a “right” body to begin with and that there is something that can be trapped. I am my body. I don't expect people to support me. I'm just always so sad and hurt that people always like being so mean to me! Technically there is nothing wromg with the word itself. The problem is it's typically used in a political context by people I disagree with. It's similar to "mansplaining". Some would argue that is a technical word with a clear definition and is useful in some situations. In reality, it's used by women unable to deal with arguments they disagree with and so they instead blame a man who is allegedly overexplaining obvious things. If that woman engaged with the argument itself and never attacked her opponents character, perhaps the word would be taken seriously. Because it mostly spread in toxic feminist circles, it is tainted by that toxicity. Now it will never be used to neutrally describe a typical male behavior, because it has very strong connotations.
The cis word is the same. Just like mansplaining it is biased already from the start, but got much worse when it was connected with really unbearable types of people.
Even in neutral context, the issue would be that you are describing the standard situation as if it were the anomaly, or perhaps as if it were just another category, on the same level with trans. I would object to the normalization of that primarily due to the negative effect such language seems to have on children.
Add to that some recent prominent case of this word being used by people who use an identitarian narrative to try to hurt peoples reputation, get them fired and accuse them of all kinds of nasty intentions. Once it entered the culture war on the side of the crazy left, you can't separate the word and it's negative connotations.
I personally dont mind the word itself, but as soon as I suspect you are using it in that keft wing political context, my patience will be on a very short fuse.

I am glad you were never exposed to the filth being discussed in some universities, media and recently even other private companies then. Assuming you truly do use it neutrally, you probably wouldn't get much of a reaction out of me.
I don't think non-trans means better, but it certainly means normal, default. That is also meant in a neutral way. You could say cis, but I would never use it, because having sex and intentity aligned is in fact the default and there is no need to describe it further, even when discussing trans related subjects. You do not need a word for the sky not being bright yellow, because if its blue, you can just say its the sky and everyone has the right image in their head. The same way if you say "man" and "woman" there is no need to specify cis.
I doubt in real life if you spoke calmly and people didn't object to the tone or content of your statements, that they would have such an issue with a word. Even if they did perceive it as a slight pejorative. As long as we know what you mean and you are respectful it should be fine. I would suspect people get emotional about the topic itself or your delivery, rather than a single word. But maybe I just have a bery rational social bubble.
Nobody in real life gets emotional when I say cis it's just asshole transphobes on the internet. Well there you have it. In real life nobody would look you in the eyes and say half of what they say online. From my point of view it is correct only heterosexual end sane, that is, that it addresses the opposite sex understood as physical sex determined by the presence of natural primary sexual organs opposite to those of the subject. It just seems redundant to me unless it was used in a certain case in which someone needed to identify my sexual identity/preference and I’m not sure why they would or would matter to them. This does not change if they find out she is trans.

They had a very different life experience as a group than you. At best you are a trans woman but not a real woman. They are not Cis gendered, they are girls and women or boys and men. You don’t get to tell everyone what they are. You can be you but that’s where it ends. If you don’t see yourself as a man, fine. But you are not a woman. Don't label me with your mindsets. That is a term you never ever needs to call me before I used it myself. Which I never will. My advice is to remove all labels when you speak to people and let them decide which they want to apply and from there decide if your willing to grant them the label.
It's not a term I use, but I don't particularly mind people using it to describe me. I find the whole concept of the word "cisgender" rather silly. Cis isn't needed because a real male or female doesn't need any prefix. The implication that they do is just a push to pretend that somehow transexuals are the same, but they're not. Maybe in 200 years there will be medical advances that allow a real sex change, but until that day, they do not exist. And even then, they will be artificial and will still need a prefix whereas real genders don't.

Nobody says cis makes anyone better or worse, but being trans doesn't turn you into the gender you imagine you want to be. In fact, you have no idea what it's like to be in the actual opposite sex's head. We're wired differently, you can see it on brain scans. You may really deep down think you know how biological women's minds work, but you literally have no way to possibly know. If you are a different gender than man, it's something other than woman. Odds are pretty good if you were born a woman, you would have found some other reason to be unhappy with yourself. That's the human condition. Because you can't know what a biological woman's life is like. You can't know what it's like to be a biological woman, it's physically impossible. It's not an insult, it's just a statement of fact. You may have a lot in common, but you're not the same. If someone were to tell you they're 100% sure they think the same way as a wolf, that doesn't mean they're right. They can't know what a wolf thinks like, can they? Your brain was developed and born with a certain amount of hormones and structures that are easy to identify even post-op, as not being the same as a female. That doesn't mean you're less of a person, you're not. But by insisting you are something doesn't make it true and it's only going to lead to a life of heartache if you try. If you choose to be a transexual female, then be one and be OK with the fact cis women are not the same. You don't get endless choices in the world, you can't choose to be tall and redheaded and blue eyed no matter how much you want, either, but people live with that all their lives. Maybe part of what makes you feel like you're not "the same" as everyone else, is your assumption that we don't all have the same kind of insecurities about things in our lives that aren't exactly the way we wish they were. EVERYONE in the world wishes something was a little different. But don't let yourself become depressed that you'll never be a cis female, because you'll just live a depressed life and nobody will give you a gold star at the end for your suffering. Try to find something about the real you that you like and want to improve. The transexual you if that's what you trully believe you are. But as long as you continue to believe you need to be the same as biological women to be valuable, you'll never be happy. You can't change who you are even with a new body. You have to choose happiness, because it doesn't happen for anyone automatically.
Let me ask a simple question, do you usually let people know you're not born female before flirting with them? If you do so and you don't feel like it's lying, keep in mind a lot of those guys still will. No good will come from a relationship that's not built on trust, and leaving something like that out is pretty crucial. Among other things, most guys want a family someday and they don't want to adopt. Granted, some women are also unable to have kids, but the responsible ones would also say so before beginning a relationship. I cannot deny the fact that I have a chronic, life-threatening disease that is ingrained in my DNA, no matter how hard I try. So, instead of trying to deny it's existence, I acknowledge that I have asthma and move on with life. I make the best of it, even though I will be tied to a steroid inhaler and allergy medication every day of my life. I may not even get to be a pilot, which is my dream, if I do not pass my 3rd class medical examination, which I have to pass in order to be a pilot. However, if that is not what God wants me to do, than I will make the best of it and find something else to do. I am suggesting that you should accept the body you were given, because it was fearfully and wonderfully made by a God who loves you {but just because He loves you, it doesn't mean He will accept your choices and be fine with them], no matter what you do, and make the best of it. There are pros and cons of being both genders. Neither is particularly better or worse. I'm sorry that this is difficult and hard for you. I wish you didn't have to deal with these feelings. But since you do, you could maybe try to talk to God about it. He will help you with whatever you need. Maybe you need His help feeling good in the body He gave you, help you realize that you are special and that He loves you.

Any who, God wants you to be happy with who He made you, and in the body He gave you. God doesn't make mistakes. If He did, He wouldn't be perfect. He put you in the body He wants you in because that is who you are made to be. Yes, there trials in our lives that are hard and not great to go through. (My dad almost died in a horse wreck in August. It wasn't great and it was so hard. But I got through it and am all the better because of it) But He says in 1 Cor. 10:13 that "No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it." Maybe I'm getting this part backwards but I read that to mean I can bear being in a male body and the way I endure it is through modern hormone medication.

You just described how I feel about transitioning. It was definitely worth it to no longer feel like I'm constantly acting as something I'm not.
Facts don't care about my feelings but the fact is that I feel like a woman. I'll never be a woman like you, but it makes me happy to live my life how it feels normal. Being a boy never felt normal and I hoped puberty would change that but after starting puberty I wanted to die!!!
Fact: you feel like a woman
Fact: your body is not a woman's body.
That is what I mean by facts don't care about your feelings. Just because you have those feelings doesn't mean the facts change.

I believe that God made you a man, and He wants you to be a man. He wouldn't have put you in a man's body if He didn't want you to be a man.
God didn't make you have these feelings; He wouldn't ask you to sin. He can help you feel comfortable in your male skin.
Another reason I do not think it would be wise to do this is because about 78% of people going through these transitions commit suicide. This came from a person I know who has a family member going through these transitions. I am only saying this out of care for you. I am done with this conversation because I think we have each made our points. I hope you will reconsider all these feelings you have. You can overcome them, without having to change genders or what not. After this point, we will just be repeating ourselves.
If you go through with it, your whole life will be acting like something you cannot physically be. I'm sorry to say it, but it's the truth and some one needs to inform you about this.

Calling people cisgender is inherently a way to marginalize normal people. You make them into an other by labeling them your unique category and then dismiss them based on that
To be clear my comment was not directed towards you specifically. Though if you are someone who addresses others as cisgender then you may be taking part and what I'm talking about
To me cis people are an other because I'm not cis. Cis people certainly aren't marginalized for being cis, I don't even know any other trans people in person.
I use the term cis to say someone isn't trans.
I don't need a word to describe me being ""normal"", it seems a bit weird to specify.

It's a fact, isn't it? Most people aren't trans, that makes you the exception and us the normal, by definition.
The problem isn't the label, the problem is that you feel a need to label. You're not a transgender to me, you're just another human. To you, I shouldn't be "cis" or anything you want to call me, I'm just me. Labels mean nothing.
