The measure of "better," unfortunately, seems to be "which is more effictive at whipping their population up into a violent mob determined to see the end of another country?" This is what the cold war was about. Russia only lost that because Chernobyl bankrupted the USSR. But one could argue that was still a valid reason to lose since the same propaganda they used to stir up their citizens was also used to keep the dangers of their reactors alive.
Unfortunately (?) the US is pretty much on its back in this contest and Russia seems to have picked up where they left off at full steam. A population can not be whipped up against another county if it is already whipped up against itself. Which is why Russia went to such great lengths to install Trump. But then again, maybe it's time we as a species put some of these international pissing contests behind us. I'd propose a bait and switch. 5.8K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. Ukraine isn't important at all, though the EU sees it as a buffer against Russia. Most EU countries are US allies, and most former Eastern Bloc countries that are now part of the EU and/or NATO hate Russia. The US would rather treat Poland as the buffer against Russia, given a choice.
Taiwan is a buffer against Chinese expansion into the Pacific, which threatens the US allies of South Korea, Japan, Australia and New Zealand as well as the states of Alaska and Hawaii. Taiwan is also run by the Chinese faction that the US supported (or failed to support) during Mao's revolution.
That's historically speaking anyway. The current US administration has a lot of corrupt practices with Ukraine but understands the political gravity of an overt alliance, and would pretty happily let China seize Taiwan as long as it doesn't hurt it's image too badly. Frankly, Australia and Japan are far more concerned about Taiwan than the US is.01 Reply- +1 y

It's weird, I didn't get that from American media. I got that from japanese media, india's media, indonesian and philipine commentators, and of course, chinese internal media itself.
It's stuff like that which makes me want to propose a measure to my federal government to offer up manpower to india in it's protection of it's boarders, since we don't have much to offer in defensive capabilities.

"If it's news to you, China is the leading nation on the 4th Industrial Revolution."
Leading to where exactly, the Great Depression? I don't know if you've noticed, but China is falling apart. Billions of dollars worth of apartments, roads, and infrastructure being torn to pieces because it was worthless, on top of natural disasters, on top of constant blackouts due to poor funding, on top of lack of water and food in good part of the country. A population that is aging, on top of being poor as fuck, and an economy that is changing to the benefit of neighboring countries, while China is forced to deal with with the debts. China is a sand castle, and the wind is blowing.
"They can defend themselves quite well in the event of a US aggression."
Lol, lmao, kek.
Oh, you're serious.
Let's do the basic shit first. China can't keep it's 'own' territory at bay. Constant protests throughout 'their' Hong Kongs, Tibets and the rest. Good luck drafting revolutionaries that want to secede from you.
Aside from that, how exactly are they gonna pay for their elderly (just on their own, that's a struggle), the economy that has to keep on going throughout the war (keep in mind that they mostly make shit for the countries most likely to start a war with them, meaning that they are as reliant on the west as you think the west is on them) and also pay for the war effort (so including all the necessary materials, manpower that has to be pain and fed). Good luck transporting goods from on end of the country to the other too, when you're relying on energy coming from other nations and when your own infrastructure is crumbling.

Yeah, so united in fact that their own citizens are constantly protesting and revolting. After all, nothing says loyalty to China as parading around with a Union Jack or the Stars and Stripes.

"data and facts"
Your personal opinion is neither data nor a factual thing, just to be clear.
"And where exactly did you get the idea that China is some economic giant that"
Because it is indeed an economic giant since their accumulated wealth is far bigger than our and their GDP measured by PPP is considerably bigger than ours. Face it.
"can just start wars"
It's been 40 years since China started a war. And they lost the last time. Don't mistake China for the US. Our country is starting conflicts around the world. Vietnam, Iraq, Syria, Afghanistan and Yemen just to name a few.
"Oh tell me, wise one. Is that when you have to destroy over a dozen new high rises cause they are about as useful as your 2 braincells?"
Are you sober?
"Yeah, so united in fact that their own citizens are constantly protesting and revolting."
China isn't the USA. Don't think other countries have polarized societies like ours. The Chinese, in fact, are proud of their leadership, culture, identity, history, nation... You can think they are wrong for doing so, but you can project our social reality on them, for the reason it doesn't reflect how they think.
If you don't know, China has a billion and a half people, and I can safely tell you that most of them are not that into American values...
"Yeah, it ain't. Cause China and Chinese electricity are about as stable as they are well built."
Well, Russia is coming to their rescue. That's a teue example of the geniality of our elites... They tried to bully those two countries, but ended up forcing the two powers to create an alliance against us. Good job!

"Your personal opinion is neither data nor a factual thing, just to be clear."
You're right, my personal opinions are based in data and facts, though.
China also has massive debts and is actually bleeding money.
You do understand that China is merely a factory, right? They aren't doing the hard work of actually coming up with new technologies, they're just doing what Thailand, Vietnam, India or any one of the -stands can do too, churn out cheap shit. Can you name me 5 things China actually came up with and didn't just produce.
"It's been 40 years since China started a war."
And the point is what exactly? My point was that they are constantly on the brink a war, such as with Taiwan and constant threats to the western world, Japan, Australia and the likes, as in all the nations that are using China as a factory. Wonder what would happen to the Chinese economy if other's would find themselves another factory.
"Are you sober?"
Nice dodge. Now argue against my point.
"Don't think other countries have polarized societies like ours."
Are you basing any of this on actual facts? Even putting aside that tiny issue of a fucking genocide that they're committing as we argue here, they are protesting constantly, even outside of the 'totally Chinese' places like Taiwan, Hong Kong, Tibet and the likes. And the only reason why the western world doesn't know much about it is because China is North Korea levels of dystopian when it comes to freedom of the press and freedom of speech in general, or just make that freedoms in general.
Tell me again how people just love their dictators and the constant unrests are just further proof of it.

"My point was that they are constantly on the brink a war"
False. China hasn't been in war for the last 40 years, while the US created at least a dozen conflicts around the world and killed millions.
"Now argue against my point."
The only point here is that you're either extremely dumb or clinically insane. Or both.
"Are you basing any of this on actual facts?"
Well, feel free to prove me wrong, kiddo. Prove that China isn't a united country despite having a 90% homogeneous population who are proud of their national character, that China is a "factory," that China is in big debt despite its debt being a fraction of the US one... Go ahead, white trash.
"Even putting aside that tiny issue of a fucking genocide"
