Nope. I'm an ICU nurse. I'm still getting a lot of Omicron patients taking up my beds, and ERs are getting clogged up by them too.

Yeah, sure, it's not as lethal as other variants, but it's still landing A LOT of people in the hospital. They are taking up beds that patients with other conditions need too. A friend of mine in our ER had a few patients die waiting for an ICU bed that was taken by a Covid patient.

Our healthcare system is on the brink. This is still worse than the flu and needs to be treated accordingly.

Yes. I’ve been saying it since the vaccines came out. I don’t think people realize how many people will die if and when we suffer an catastrophic economic crash. What people should note when they listen to nurses is their age.

Every year during winter here our hospitals are overwhelmed with people who have the flu.

I know young and old nurses. The younger nurses say that they’re overwhelmed by covid and that clearly more lockdowns are needed. The old ones though say that it’s no different to other years where they were busy, before covid. Difference being experience there.
