No need to. London is full of knife crime. At least carrying a knife in UK is a criminal offence. In US, there is not much to stop guns being carried.

At least we made it illegal. We should also make it a mandatory whole life sentence for just carrying a knife. Same, here, for guns. Make it a real deterrent. There is no need whatsoever to carry either.

And there certainly are reasons to carry them. Self-defense aside, if someone wanted to gift their kitchen knives to someone, should they need like a concealed carry knife license or something? Most criminals obtain their firearms illegally, they already don't follow the laws. I promise you that if you limit the number of guns, the amount of gun violence is not going to go down. They will always figure out a way to get them, somebody will ship them in from another country, as long as there is money to be made selling them illegally it's going to happen and there's nothing we can do to stop it. Look at the war on drugs, how many billions of dollars have been wasted on that bullshit. It's still comes across the border everyday. Hell it's manufactured here as well

If they are felons, how are they purchasing them legally? Maybe other states sell to felons, the state of Illinois has one of the strictest gun policies in the United States. That doesn't happen in every state. Selling on the streets is most definitely illegal in the state of Illinois, I promise you. Gun shows have state troopers in attendance watching transactions. To buy a firearm legally in the state of Illinois you have to have a firearm owners identification card. Which consist of a background check by the Illinois State Police. Until you receive your FOID card, you cannot purchase a firearm or ammunition
@20yearsolder but thats not everywhere, like you said. So someone wanting a gun for nefarious purposes could go a few miles further and buy outside of Illinois. Which is why chicago still has high gun crimes.
I know for a fact they go right over to Indiana and purchase them. I have no issue with being background checked. Having a waiting. For a firearm. It doesn't matter what you do, you can make all the laws in the world, they will come across the border from Mexico
