Why is cohabitation and hooking-up culture also spreading in South America and other countries?

I'm from Peru and even here, less people are interested in the traditional lifestyle of marriage and kids.

It isn't just in the USA nor UK but also in South American countries and other parts too. There have been several cases here of women staying in those long-term relationships (even having kids), living together and waiting endless for a proposal they'll never get. Too many people are also just into about pleasure and nothing else. People are also getting westernized here and it's out of control. Why?

A couple members in my family are doing that. It's really disappointing to be honest. Meanwhile I'm still living with my family. I've never lived with a boyfriend. My current boyfriend knows I want to do things the old way; if I live together then it's to get married and have my first child.

Why wouldn't they? People have to update and move with the times and normalities that come with evolving time.
Wasn't any marriages in the stone age. And then it became the norm due to religious reasons, and has since fallen due to the fall in people being religious.

I still want to get married at a courthouse. I find that one of my main goals in life. I still want to do things the old ways, of moving in with the man that'll be my husband... not a boyfriend.

Then why are the cases of ''forever gfs'' on the rise here too. I've heard stories of women living with their bfs for years and they are waiting for a proposal.

Well that should be obvious. "Forever gfs" are the simple set of people who would have married a little while ago before the times changed. Not all of them are waiting for a proposal.

Marriage isn't required to be happy. It's an extra thing you can do if you want, but has no relevance anymore. A relationship isn't defined by if you're married or not.
And I pity you if you can't understand that.

This basically. I was never one of those women that live with several bfs, only to then break up. What's the point of sharing a house with someone you're not going to be permanent with?

You could be with someone long term without ya know.. getting married to them! Haha, it's literally that simple. Divorce rates are at an all time high in the U. S. Roughly 70% of divorces are initiated by women themselves. So it's no surprise most men aren't interested in marriage anymore.
