It wasn't about race. The Nazis put Jews (a religious group), Jehovah's Witnesses (another religious group), Roma Gypsies, homosexuals, the disabled, prisoners of war, communists, political dissidents, academics, journalists, etc. into concentration camps where they were used for slave labor to drive the war economy on free labor. As different nations were conquered different groups were included in that labor pool. There was a global economic depression at the time and there wasn’t enough food to go around. The solider class obviously got food first. The prisoners ate last and often starved. When they died, they were discarded. Enemies of the party got worked to death and starved. Where does race come into the picture?

But I have to speak in defense of "Whoopi Goldberg" (REAL name is Caryn Elaine Johnson) because she only reflects the truth of their Leftist "Critical Race Theory", which they pretend is not happening. One group of White people killed another group of White people, so that doesn't serve their Cultural Marxist agenda. "Whiteness is inherently evil," the Cultural Communists claim. Whoopi is just driving that point home. Good points by Tyrus from 8:09 forward, and Kat from 13:40 forward. Intersectionality of the Leftists distorts real historical understanding.

Whoopie Goldberg believed that since she is a liberal Woke actress, that she was immune to getting in trouble. She ALMOST was immune to getting in trouble; but the woke staffers at CBS rightfully got pissed off and demanded her suspension. If you think about it; other CBS employees got FIRED for saying far less, which is political and ideological discrimination. CBS (Disney) KNEW that they were on the Conservative side of the coin; so they destroyed their careers and their lives (Roseann Bar, and that other Marvel Movie actress, forget her name).

Hitler didn’t just target Jewish population. He also ‘eliminated’ anyone who he deemed didn’t fit his image of perfection. This included quite a long list of individuals including homosexuals, the disable, the mentally ill, … really anyone who didn’t fit his image of ‘normal’. It isn't.

Race is of social construction. The Nazis believed the Jews were of a different "race". Their skin color didn't matter in the Nazi definition. Just because America uses skin color to define race doesn't mean every other society does, since every society has its own unique rules for deciding differences. Though I must admit, most other societies are far more accurate in their designations.

I hate that the term Holocaust was coined to ONLY refer to Jews and give them special status. In fact, Jews didn't comprise a majority of those who were persecuted by Nazis or died in camps. Ethnicity played a part in the sense that Slavs, Poles and Gypsies were targeted. But Catholics, homosexuals, mentally and physically disabled, and dissenters were also targeted.
It also has to be noted that not all Jews were rounded up. Some continued to serve in the Reich.

Ashkenazi Jews are Caucasian, the same as Germans. So was it about race or culture?

The World Zionist Organization declared war on Germany and called for an international boycott on German goods in 1933, at the height of the Great Depression. Goldberg has a nasty habit of opening her mouths before engaging her brain, Goldberg shown by her recent comment about the Holocaust, that in Goldberg’s mind ONLY BLACK People can be subject to racism, this shows how closed minded she is.

The ‘apology’ she put out doesn’t mitigate how wrong her comments were, and then she went onto that chat show and doubled down which only compounded her screw up.

As for the two week suspension due mainly to the complaints from ABC staffers, it might give her time to consider her actions, though I doubt it, she will treat it as a paid vacation, while pouting about it in public, acting like she is being put upon.

Because it wasn't about race, or one particular race now was it? Being Jewish is not a race. It was about Nazi Germany believing that only a specific group of people were superior to everyone else, of any race. The word Aryan took on a different meaning in the late 1800's and early 1900's. It became the name for a mythical, superior race, which previously was NOT what it meant. Hitler falsely promoted this idea to the German people saying this was who they were, and all others were inferior. In particular, the Jews were primarily the worst of the "non-Aryans".

So it didn't matter one freaking bit what "race" you were - if you weren't the one of the German Aryan elite, you were inferior as a race or person. Blacks, gypsies, any mentally ill, any physically deformed, Jehovah's Witnesses, you name it.

Hitler was against ALL races, even members of his own (white), if they weren't "Aryans". Whoopi got it right.

Because it wasn't. You can make the argument that, since it's primarily an ethnic religion, Jews are a race, and while that's shaky at best, the case for Armenians is much stronger.

But disabled people aren't a race. Or Communists or homosexuals. Or Catholics, dissidents, or unionizers. The Holocaust was about getting rid of the undesirables, not just the Jews.
