Death penalty would be the cheapest option for the society, no matter from which country. One injection and he's done - cheap and clean. The death penalty has no place in a civilised country, where respect for human rights is paramount.

Unfortunately, there are still countries which fail to respect life.
Now, clearly the behaviour of some offenders, such as the behaviour shown in the clip, is repugnant. Yes, imprison those who have committed violent offences. A civilised country will do that, but will not commit murder.

If we look at this as "the next step in the process", it becomes evident that simply sucker punching people in the face probably feels to this guy, who is 41, like "been there, done that" if he did it, so why not escalate to literal "assault with a deadly weapon?"
