What are your thoughts on the Freedom Convoy?

In my opinion, Freedom Convoy consists of many groups (The truckers who are against vaccine mandates; The anti-government that wants change in its leaders and system; and The conspiracy people that think they are victims, comparing themselves from WWII events some are bearing black flags and American flags and does not believe COVID exists nor wear any masks.)
All of these groups are with Freedom Convoy with a goal of fighting for freedom.
I understand that truckers lost their jobs due to mandatory vaccine mandate. They didn't want to put vaccine in their body so they are fighting for this. They did good job helping the economy by delivering goods but now because of vaccine they felt they lost their freedom. And ofcourse due to that and the protest, the economy is also affected.
If all of them just get the vaccine follow the mandates and move on, it will be much easier but I also don't blame them if they don't want to take this needle shot because its their body so their choice what they want to do with their own body. Right? And if they put a mandate, it should be applied to everybody in the entire nation, not only to selected occupations, that is also why it's not fair.
The anti-government group and the conspiracist exists already long time ago before the convoy started, they just showed up and joined now on protest since their goal is the same.

If everyone just complied and slavishly accepted the political mandates from the government this would all just go away.

All the truckers want is for the vaccine mandates to end, and to stop the use of digital vaccine passports.

So—hold onto something before you faint—they want the world to go back to how it was.

You are correct on that the truckers convoy was high jacked by a lot of other people who threw their grievances in with them.
The convoy started by truckers, not because they had to get vaccinated. They did not have to. They didn’t like that they had to quarantine on return from trips to the US. These were rules for EVERYBODY when they returned from the US. They wanted special treatment, and were pissed they weren’t getting it.
So the mandate they were fighting against WAS in fact applied to everybody else. It wasn’t “only to selected occupations.”
I know this because I was paying attention when it all started, which was before they even hit the road. They started their issue, and it was that they had to be vaccinated OR they had to quarantine.
They choose to do neither, and bitched about it instead. But in the end, they did have a choice.

I think I was being misunderstood by what I am trying to say. The rules about vaccine mandate should not only be for truckers/travellers in and out of US. It should be for everybody even non-travellers. Covid does not choose if you travel or not. But then not everybody agrees with it. The issue they have was they need be vaccinated and the quarantine was not an option because you know how many trucks coming in and out of the border? Where will you put all these hundreds and thousands of trucks and drivers when they come in the border? Its not like airport that they can go directly to hotel. Its just not plausible so they do the mandatory vaccination which obviously they disapprove.

What? Unvaccinated Canadian truckers were expected to quarantine upon their return home from the US. Why would they have to go to a hotel? They could quarantine at home, like every other Canadian who was told to quarantined was able to do. Be vaccinated OR quarantine.
What do you mean the rules should be for non-travellers as well? That’s makes no sense. Those rules were for all travellers because they were travelling. Hell, you even had to be vaccinated or quarantine if you went from one province to another. If they even let go from one to the other.

They started out great and are still doing awesome work, but unfortunately, they have been very unfairly marred by the racist groups and the ones who want to institute some
sort of militia type government.

Thankfully, the vaccine passport thing will be ending in Ontario and we will be opening up 100% in the next couple of weeks.

Except for the few nutty ones who have glommed onto the protests, wanting to overthrow the government and the democratic system we have in place, spewing their extremely racist views, flying the flag upside down, tearing it, vandalizing the National War Memorial and peeing on it, and spraying graffiti and peeing all over statues of national heroes. Those people are NOT patriots. They do not love this country like the majority of the convoy does.
