Personally, I would refuse because I know once the US government gets involved in a war or political affairs of other countries, they send their troops mainly to help benefit their (US govt) own self-interests rather than actually fight for "peace", "freedom", and "liberation" of those sincerely being oppressed and massacred.

Fun and joke aside, this applies to the draft issue as well. Even in the tensest of 1980s Cold War times, when my peers and I DID fear being drafted and having to fight the communists in Central America, the draft did not happen.

Yes, everyone still registers for it, but that has been the case since the summer of 1980, with *Jimmy Carter* still in office executive order implementing it, but it has remained the same for 42 years.

I’m a female, so I’m exempt. My husband would want to go back in, but he has a Service Connected Disability (Combat Wounded), so he is ineligible.

I've aged out; I'm safe. But I remember my plans for those eight horrible years, and I even know most of my brother's, from when the Iraq war was gearing up to begin, and I wouldn't balk for an instant at helping someone else get away who needs it. Why do people keep saying this? There will not be a World War 3, not this time anyway, because I've heard that the invasion of the Ukraine is already failing, that severe logistical issues and high casualties are causing the troops to fail to meet their objectives. Resistance has been stronger than anyone expected, and weapons from overseas are pouring in.
If this is the beginning of World War 3, then it won't last very long, because Putin has already lost it.

I'm medically disabled. About the only thing I could do in the military is train people in Martial Arts, which the U. S. hardly does anymore except for Navy SEALS and other special forces.
