Anonymous(18-24)1 yI think a lot of guys would try to avoid the draft using medical reasons but there'd be no running to Canada or Mexico if WW3 started.
People think the draft will be men only 18-24 but the truth is that they will draft based solely on the need for soldiers, so if you are 30-50 you could very easily find yourself in the frontline.
Then there's full conscription like the British, French & Russians had during WW2. For instance in Britain women were conscripted to man AA guns, drive military trucks, farming, making armaments, nurses you name it. There was barely a woman who wasn't conscripted. As for men conscripted, there were a lot of young men who got conscripted only to find themselves not going off to fly a spitfire, man a battleship or be a soldier but instead found themselves working down a coal mine or working on a train or iron works.
I think if WW3 broke out it would be full conscription. Even the confederacy during the civil war had full conscription of at least the men. Even if you think you are told old for the draft if there is a need or you have relevant skills the military needs you will be drafted. A lot is made of women not have to sign up for the draft but the truth is that if WW3 broke out today women would be drafted tomorrow.

I will fight to protect this country, flaws and all. We have our fights within the country, we have division and strife, and we really need to get something better than the shiniest of two turds; but, we have the ability and the freedom to do that, and to screw up, and I will fight for us to have the right to keep doing that.
That being said... I would hate to have to do it. My best course of option would probably be to volunteer and get in with all the folks that DO want to fight/defend; at least then I'll know they have my back.00 Reply
1 yThis is an assumption that the USA were attacked!
Historical Context: Pearl Harbor, Lusitania, US Maine (headlines), Vietnam (faked), etc.
This proves to me and shows to be a reminder that when our Democracy is under siege, our brave men & brave women kick ass to defend their sacred document, their freedoms, their families, then lastly themselves! True patriots rise to the cause and salute the flag! 🇺🇸🫡

*Other reminder: Boys would try to enter the wars under the age of 18 and lie about it to get in to fight for their country. This shows the dedicated patriotism that comes from those times. Americans are resilient, strong, and courageous God willing we’ll beat those bastards clean!
Asker1 yAgain u avoided the question
- 1 y
I avoided the question? IF there was an event that impacted the USA & shook up morale, yeah I would fight & happily get drafted and do my part in preserving our Democracy. Again, I believe the vast majority of men & women will want to do their part to preserve Democracy based on the historical context I put forth.
Asker1 yNobody wants to get drafted. Look at the other comments

I think you purposely miss the point of my answer. Read more carefully, I stand by my opinion and I’d happily serve my country. I’d be happy to be drafted!

Yeah and you lack an imagination and also seeing someone’s opinion that doesn’t align with your predetermined notions.

1 yDepends on how the war starts and the circumstances. I say this as a former staff sergeant of six years service.
I won't do a medical failing thing but I would probably piss hot for thc (since I left the military I smoke regularly to help sleep, I'm in a recreationally legal state though), if I want to avoid the draft I'll either move to my ancestral homeland or I'd go to jail a disgraced veteran in willful objection.
If it was in the circumstances of Vietnam or anything involving Israel, they will not retain my services. A threat to the US homeland (including territories, Hawaii and Alaska) and I will take the oat to the Constitution again, that's the oath, it's to no man or Congress.
20 ReplyI'm too old to draft, but I'd refuse to fight a war for the rulers and their corporations. Hopefully everyone follows suit. The politicians, corporate execs, and feminists can go fight. re-state//background_color_rgba (0, 0, 0, 0), font_color_rgb (77, 77, 77), justifyLeft

1 yI was in the service. I wouldn't try to "avoid" the draft, but in the front line, more than 50% of everyone beside you will be dead in a losing battle you had been sent to before being allowed to tactically retreat. It's very clear that world war 3 would be to kill lots of people and to some degree, I could see that being the generation purposely made stupid. I wouldn't want them to get drafted because I think it's evil, however as a utilitarian I realize that it's also against my interest at this age for them not to be drafted in the grand scheme of eugenics.

Asker1 yYou believe in eugenics?
- 1 y
In a short and simple answer, no. Eugenics today is the idea that we should attempt to curb naturally emergent behaviors by deciding who gets to experience love and who doesn't. It's pretty messed up. Sadly rather people believe it or not, it seems our government is allowing the rich people that subvert it to do just that.
Anonymous(45 Plus)1 yI think all men should refuse to go. Not fighting someone else is war. I spent 10 years in the military under the false notion that I was fighting corpus freedom. We don’t even have real freedom here. It was just a lie to fight to secure other countries’ resources, to help a lot of these old men keep their money. They need to get rid of selective services. My body my choice right? Men should be able to say the same. Phuk dying for someone else is war.
30 ReplyIf the ministers, judges, lawyers, police, bureaucrats, businessmen and common people of my country do not bow down before me and beg with their noses on the ground and until they do not send their family boys to the front to die first.
Only then will I just think.

1 yIf I was young enough to be drafted, it would depend on whether I agreed with the war or not. If I agreed with the war I would likely join. If the war was stupid I would avoid the draft. The last time there was an active draft, I had no intention of going because it was a stupid war - or maybe more correctly, it was carried out in a stupid way.

1 yLet me think about this Go and fight for our country that the Democratic party wants to destroy so they can have the power and the money and the people that are fighting for that war are never going to be remembered they're going to be dead and that's it I would fight for a certain point because a lot of men and women have fought to keep us free up to this point but it wouldn't be for any of the Democratic party let me tell you that

1 yI live in Germany. We basically banned patriotism. If you're a patriot here, people will call you Nazi, fascist and whatever else insult they can come up with. So I think it's not very likely that in the case of a draft many people would like to go xD. Currently, I'd rather die trying to avoid to fight a war for Germany than dying in a war for Germany.
10 Reply 🤣🤣🤣🤣 "Not fighting someone elses war." ...
I think you guys should watch how men are drafted to war in Ukraine and how long will you live if you refuse to go. I know cases where drones are flying over city to look for new recruits.

1 ySelective Service registration ends at 25. I'm older. Also, although I can run a mile in under five minutes, the titanium rod in my leg from the compound fracture and the degree of loss of motion in my knee make me ineligible.
If I were eligible and the nation were actually attacked, I would volunteer, but I would refuse the draft as I it as a claim that the state owns the people when the opposite is supposed to be true.01 Reply- 1 y

However, if there was a draft, I think they should only draft women for the next world war and the men can stay home this time. That would be more fair.

Google says they won’t conscript someone after 35 apparently. Guess I’m too old of a fart now…..

But as someone who values the liberties of this nation, I feel it is not just a right, but a privilege to serve the country and its people
