I honestly don’t think he wanted to become president. That’s not a dig either. I think because of his VP status before, he was the most recognisable/therefore most ideal candidate.
Genuinely believe he would have been preferred if someone else had ran. But who knows, I’m not big into American politics.

Yeah I totally agree with this, it felt like Democrats reviewed their ranks to see who could challenge Donald Trump and Joe Biden seemed to be only candidate who could potentially challenge Trump.

It's really an achievent because we have a war now, and during the war (or similar crisis) president's approval rating rises ( this is how psychology works - president symbolises stability). F. e. after World Trade Center, Bush jr's approval rating rose to 90% (!). I don't know how Biden screw this but he's probably the only case of approval drop.
