No. They are different tools. However, THEY ARE JUST TOOLS. Neither one can cause harm on their own. For them to cause harm, they have to be in the wrong hands and those wrong hands have to be doing the wrong thing with them. Many gun control advocates love to use the argument that your question implies and it is plain dumb. Gun control in general is dumb because the very people breaking the law are the very ones who will not be restricted by new laws because they are criminals in the first place. Gun control measures only work on those who obey the law and only further restricts their ability to defend themselves against those the gun control measures are aimed at in the first place.

Not the same. Guns are used to protect and save lives, deter crime and to hunt. Cars are used to get people to and from work and school, go shopping, etc. Both can be used to harm others, but statistically, MANY more people are killed each year from misuse of cars than are from misuse of guns.

Bound to happen. Cars are more Widley used, everytime one get's in a car they have a chance of killing someone. However a pistol in their house sat in a safe not so much.
But anyway bad comparisons overall since I see them not the same thing.

Like you said gun related deaths surpassed car deaths and has been doing so for a couple years now in USA which would only lead to an argument that guns are not the same and in fact are worse.
