If I´m honest I wouldn´t fight against because I´m not really fighting slavery right now. Yes slavery has been abolished 150 years ago but there slavery is still around according to stats I found there are about 40 million leaving in slavery worldwide.
Many of them because sexual exploitation, others to get goods for luxury we live with like chocolate, cheap meat or electronic devices.
Most people aren´t doing nothing against that or quite happy when they can save money on the meat they buy for barbecues or other occasions.
Like many people aren´t fighting against that. I doubt society would fight against slavery because that just would lead to people preferring to give the work away without paying for it.
I think society would sooner or later get used to that as well.

The only way I'd ever be okay with slavery is if it was just a societal class term and not the actual old day definition. And I'd actually pay them a proper wage. And tell them NOT TO SPEND it all in one place. And i'd go out of my way to keep them healthy. And get them the proper clothes to be seen as family and not property. I'd make it clear that I have a higher standard when it comes to life than to just expect the lowest class of society to somehow survive like some cockroach.

And to be clear I'm playing along with the simulated question. My personal opinion slavery is just wasteful of reasources. We as humanity would benefit hugely from reducing our lowest class citizens and not just expecting everyone to scape by. If you legalise slavery then many businesses would have to buy slaves in order to complete. Decent ethical companies who didn't would soon go bust. I think a great many worker would find their job gone and themselves having to become slaves.
