Is America becoming a fascistic state?

Fascism, everything within the state; nothing outside of the state. With the creation of the DHS Board of Disinformation have we lost an important part of our freedom in America? Do we really want to live in a country where the government is the arbiter of truth?

America will become a fascist state, but it won’t be the way a lot of users on this site think it will be. This country is like the Weimar Republic in it’s final years. The Democrats are now trying to hold things together in this ‘Weimar Republic’ while the Republicans have the role of playing the Nazis, poised to take over. Trump will punish anyone in the Republican Party who he thinks is disloyal to him. Trump wishes he had the power of Hitler (who he admires), as Hitler could kill his opposition, like he did with the Stormtrooper leaders in 1934.

On the left side, you have ANTIFA, who are like the Communist thugs in 1930s Germany. They can be dangerous, but they don’t have near the muscle and firepower of The Proud Boys or Oath Keepers. Like Goebbels, the right wing has it’s propaganda machine, which combines truth with lies, or just flat out lies, and brainwashes their followers with stories about ‘Jewish Space Lasers’, stolen elections, and Hunter Biden’s laptop.

This Misinformation Board looks like it will do nothing but gather information on foreign sources influencing our media. It seems to have no real power, but the right wing wasted no time in going on the attack, and spreading fear.

It’s just a matter of time before these Republican Nazis goose step their way into power. You can FEEL the hate in them.

America has 50 states. We all have our own constitutions and laws. The federal government is a servant of the states. They don't get to enforce shit, unless your county Sheriff lets them. Your county sheriff is responsible for defending your rights. If you live in a good county of a good state, the blowhards pretending to be in power can't do shit. If you live in some communist enclave, then your Sheriff and DA might be controlled and they might come after you. All politics is local. Fix your shit locally, and the commies on TV are irrelevant.

Then stop behaving like children. The simple truth is facts are facts for reason, there's evidence and proof to back them up. Swamping the Internet with "alternative facts" doesn't make them real. The earth will always be round, the Easter bunny isn't real, the holocaust actually did happen, and Elvis isn't coming back from Mars with proof the election was stolen.
The fact is America produces so much bullshit that you've drowned out your own scientists. America is loosing credibility on the world stage. Any information coming out is treat with the same suspicion as an email from Nigerian Prince asking for your bank details.
I'm all for free speech but some people need to be told your wrong now shut the fuck up your embarrassing us.

The problem with this is who decides what is accurate or not? Almost nothing is that clear cut.

Like when Twitter censored things before the election said they were incorrect and fake news, but then six months later, after they realized their mistakes allowed it to be posted.

Used as a political tool by Twitter to help their preferred candidate win. Facebook has done the same thing, some things say been verified fake then after some appeals and a few months down the road they remove those flags.

Seems like a great way for one side or the other to hide the truth when it matters the most, cause later on people aren't going to see it or care as much.

If the Republicans don't include destroying that organization (as well as permanently blocking something similar from ever being made in the future) in their election platform (and following through with it), they are fools, and conservatives in name only. Somehow I expect they'll let it stand and make a half-assed attempt to turn it against their political enemies instead though.

This is silly, and completely unenforceable. Unless, as you suggest, it becomes a fascist state where someone can be dragged away to a prison cell for declaring "the sky is purple!". It's simply ridiculous.

I somewhat agree that "disinformation" is an issue that will continue to have relevance as we already have deepfake technology and very little of what is published is without some bias or other.

Reality is subjective, truth is subjective. Most people don't really understand this, or they have some (subjective) belief system in place that deludes them into thinking they have an "objective perspective" (<------oxymoron).

Trying to get a monopoly on truth is an exercise in futility and an affront to autonomy.

I love how the Democrats are making “misinformation” there reason for silencing people. Misinformation is nothing new, it’s hundreds and hundreds of years old. But NOW it’s a problem?

Funny how all this suddenly became important when Trump came into office. Oh and let’s not forget CNN’s Trump “Fact Checkers” who suddenly vanished when Biden became president. Why? Well fact-checkers are no longer needed.

Its all so obviously political and designed specifically to selectively target Conservative government officials as influencers. Twitter profiles are routinely banned. YouTube channels taken down and demonetized. And any little thing that a conservative ever said is being used against them as a means to keep them from running for office.

I voted Democrat longer than a lot of users here have been alive. I can’t vote for them anymore. They are creating the problems and then trying to say that they have the solution.

The fortunate reality is, Washington D. C. lacks the man power to effectively enforce such rules, they can terrorize individuals and companies but really only command 1/10th the law enforcement resources required.

States have the real army, and being divided half of them will consistently be against Washington.
