Why does our society also view people that are single a bad thing?

Usually they do not, however with both guys and girls (more so guys) it was often a sign that they had issues or where Gay / Lesbian.

i know growing up and guy living on his own and not having girlfriends was instantly labelled as gay and or weird.

Then of course these people tend not to socialise and end up talking to kids, this in turn digs that hole deeper and rumours spread.

The world is a cruel place for anyone not following the social standard, if you are different then you become a target.

Then once you have a stereotype, it simply becomes normal to label people.

Just look at the stereotyping single mothers get.

Hardly a surprise that single guys get tagged as being gay, weird etc.

i know if I pop to see a mate a couple villages over, they comment about a guy there, ‘nice guy, but you know, never seen him with a girl…..’

Because usually it means they are insufferable and/or flawed to the extent no one wants them.

Hence why normal single people will live with family or friends. The crazies tend to be the ones who live on their own with a cat or dog usually.

I'm single. But I'm none of those things. I'm allergic to cats and dogs, I don't have pets and I live by myself in a cozy 1-bedroom apartment.

Because everyone is convinced that you need to have someone to be happy, fulfilled, etc.

The amount people that think their lives have no sense because they are single or put up with toxic relationships just because they don’t want to be single 😬 it’s crazy.
