Did YOU know the original 1973 Roe v Wade decision was ALSO leaked to the press that year?

I didn't know that, but it's still the case that this is the first time a draft has been leaked, rather than the final decision.

I don't know who leaked it, but I think it's equally possible that it was leaked to avoid any of the majority voters changing their vote as someone who was so incensed by what was basically Bork's opinion being rubber stamped by five Federalist Society members whose main purpose in reaching SCOTUS was to do just this. Republicans have been conspiring to do this for nearly 50 years.

The details are horrifying.

It's clear from reading the above, that even those "great common-law authorities" did not consider the death of the fetus to be murder, even after "the quickening" just the death of the woman. And the "quickening" is half way through the second trimester (week 18-22), so matches Roe and is far later than the six weeks Republicans are pushing for.

And, just for fun, he's holding up Matthew Hale, a 17th century English judge who had two women executed for witchcraft for precedent.

Hours before, seems a little different than the current leak of a rough draft.

Either way they should investigate the leak though, I'm sure that is a crime or should be. After all, how can they debate anything in private with leaks all over the place.
