Ancient Egyptians diversity?

Fascinating part of time that nobody knows much about apart from deciphering drawings. Led me to youtube then to the usual arguments about race, the 'were they brown or were they black' and it got me thinking, that all the intelligence from the ancient world lost to bloody racism in the modern world. We all know Egyptians would have been darker skinned along with royalty apart from a Macedonian branch who would have been lighter obviously. As the drawings show ancient Egyptians were actually diverse there wasn't a specific brown or black group in their drawings, they had both. If they wanted to erase one group they would have by not drawing. So I don't get youtube videos of either race trying to claim ancient Egyptians as just their heritage when drawings depict both brown and black people, Could it be they freely mingled and didn't give a shit what colour they were?
