How do you feel about socalled "pro choice" not wanting to use the word choice anymore?

Its pretty obviously they are doing this because people were using their "My body, my choice" arguments against their precious mandatory vaccines.

And obviously, if a gay person for whatever reason wishes to try to turn straight out of his own free will, denying him that right to try would naturally be covered by criminalizing healthcare argument, right? For the sake of LGBT people and feminists wish for equality and equalityy, obviously we would be unable to fail to include this here.

I think decision is a great word. A prime example of a decision would be let the father decide to pay child support or not. Which for the sake of inclusivity and equality, is obviously just as important as letting the woman decide to get an abortion.

I think we should not let them try to weasle their way out of how they wanted vaccines to be mandatory and forced upon people, yet somehow states can't decide to ban abortions if they wish to

Ah, the classic "rebrand, but actually double down on crazy" strategy. Reminds me of 2008 when the Democrats dropped the "liberal" label for "progressive," and every time the Republicans do mental gymnastics to justify a hypocritical expansion of government like the Patriot Act, or "show your love of country by throwing away your country's values."

- They dropped "rare" in favor of "accessible," highlighting this bizarre trend in recent years to glorify abortions like it's a sacred rite.
- It's only "unexpected" when the condom breaks. They can pretend otherwise all they want; "unwanted" is a far more accurate descriptor to their platform, and the new label clashes with the party's adamant demand for abortions all the way up to the moment of birth.
- Watch for "Denial of Care" to be applied to anyone who opposes euthanizing the elderly when that becomes a talking point in about a decade or less. I'm not convinced that they understand the meaning of the word "care" because they throw it around like the race card.
- Abortions are not "healthcare." The argument could be made for the extreme fringe minority of cases in which the mother's life is threatened, but even then an abortion is rarely if ever the best way to save her life.

I think they should use the language that best suits the reality of the situation: "my body, my excuse". Because the fact is in more that 90% of abortions, the woman's body had little or nothing to do with her decision to have an abortion. The vast majority of women who choose to have an abortion do so because a child would interfere with her education or career plans, because she isn't happy with her relationship with the father, or simply isn't ready to take on the responsibilities and expense of being a parent. But of course the problem is that all of those reasons are exactly the same reasons why the father may not want to become a parent, so saying any of that opens a huge can of worms for abortion rights activists. "My body, my choice" sounds much more defensible, but the reality is it's just "my body, my excuse".

Vaccines and abortions should both be choices. Both should be legal, of course not mandatory, but an option that anyone can choose to have/get. 'My body, my choice' should stand true for both cases. I think continuing to use the term pro-choice is fine.

It's really very simple: it is not about "choice". It is not about "life". It is about abortion, and referring to it any other way is indulging immature fools who lack the intellectual integrity ho honestly say what they mean.

The groups I've volunteered with have been using safe affordable and accessable for a long time. This is nothing new. It's about using positive language when discussing reproductive rights.

I've thought for a long time that the left isn't really "pro-choice". They can dress it up however they want to, but it won't change that they are pro-abortion.
