Do YOU use the words 'pledge' and 'donate' synonymously?

Definitions of both words:

pledge

noun
A solemn binding promise to do, give, or refrain from doing something.
Something given or held as security to guarantee payment of a debt or fulfillment of an obligation.
The condition of something thus given or held.

donate

intransitive verb
To present as a gift to a fund or cause; contribute.

Yeah i used those synonymously often myself

Well, no! Because they are not really synonymous! “PLEDGE” has two meanings, sure. But the definition relating to giving to a charitable cause, has a future tense. If I say I donated $50,000 to the Center for Missing and Exploited Children, then one could rightly assume that they already have the money. Whereas if I say that I PLEDGED $50,000 to the CFMEC, then you know that while I WILL give them the money… I have not yet done so! Thus using them synonymously would in error.

I really hope not! I am so routing for Johnny to win this, but defamation is notoriously difficult to win and his win may have to be in the court of public opinion. I heard that Disney, affraid of the backlash, has slashed the screen time from 20 minutes, to less that 3mins, and the may cut her out altogether! I would like to see that too. Sadly, all the jury need to believe is that johnny abused her, even if only once, even just emotional abuse, and her slams of abuse are true and he looses! It sucks, but thats ho defamation law works! It sucks!

Well i watched a couple livestreams and in one of them there was a guy who was in the audience today in the courtroom who said that a lot of the jury members totally seem to not be buying what Amber is trying to sell there through their facial expressions and body languages. soo there is a good sign there

Oh yeah, Thats “Runkle of the Bailey”! He’s on Rekieta law all the time! Most of them are usually on Rekieta Law. But I LOVE his insights, he’s NOT exactly exciting, but he does have some great insights! The woman too, I’ve watched her on Rekieta too as well as Nate the Lawyer black lawyer bottom middle, he's one of the best in my opinion! Okay, well I started watching it this morning and it was still the Elaine, the cat-lady lawyer on direct! A.) We PLEDGE to DONATE
Simplified sentence:
A.) We make a promise to give money Vs B.) We DONATE to PLEDGE Simplified sentence: B.) We give money to make a promise If the two words had the same meaning then the two Simplified sentences would read the same. Sentence B doesn't make much sense either.

This is my opinion. There are in fact two trials going on. JD has already won the major one. That being the court of world opinion. This Virginia trial might be harder. A very good friend is a Family Law Attorney here in Virginia and she believes JD. This case is going on up in northern Virginia. If this case was anywhere else I would feel better. There? In all honesty I don't know!
