Amber Bowling pleaded guilty to the murder of her baby in court on Monday, according to LEX 18.
Bowling was 21 years old when she gave birth to her son in December 2018. She put her crying infant in a trash bag and threw it over an apartment complex banister that was two floors up, the TV station reported.
She committed the act in Manchester, Kentucky, just hours after giving birth to him, according to authorities at the time.
‘It’s heartbreaking,’ Kentucky State Police Trooper Lloyd Cochran told LEX 18 before Bowling was arrested.
‘Baffles your mind thinking about who could have done this and why.’
At the time of the incident, police got a call reporting that an infant was dead in a garbage bag on the front porch of the apartment complex.
A neighbor at the complex, Paul Herd, said he was getting home from work when he saw a trash bag near the stairs to his unit on the second floor. He took the child into his home and called police, but the infant died shortly after.
‘I couldn’t sleep at night knowing, just seeing what he’s seen, over and over in your mind again,’ Herd’s son Tyler said.
The infant boy was found bleeding from the brain with a cranial fracture and also suffered broken bones, according to Bowling’s arrest citation. The mother was charged with murder the next day.
An autopsy report showed that the boy died of blunt-force trauma injuries.
‘Why didn’t she take that child to the hospital and say, “I can’t raise it?” said Clay County Sheriff Angie Johnson. ‘There’s families waiting on these kids.’
A judge in August 2019 deemed Bowling competent to stand trial, according to the Clay County Circuit Clerk.

Plenty of women are serial killers, the problem is that its never labeled serial murder. A serial murderer is someone who kills 3 people or more, not 15. Women also murder in series in ways where no one suspects it, which is why no one suspects them.
Female serial killers are nurses, child doctors, hospice caretakers, EMT's Hospital wardens etc etc... Evil women pray on the weak and dying, people who all ready on their way out anyway. Male serial killers go out and hunt strong healthy prey and have to work for their kills.
Sadly, I have to agree about the sin part. satan seems to have a three step plan to mess us up: 1. Deception - he always lies 2. Thievery- he steals our peace, confidence, etc. 3. Destruction- the first two result in the third as we fight amongst ourselves, rather than uniting to fight the common evil enemy.
I agree with you: I'm not saying that mental problems don't have a BIG part of this problem - - - - - - - satan will use ANY and EVERY little hole in our armor- loss of jobs/people/relatives, depression, mistakes, mental health issues, assumptions (whether true or false), etc. to pull people from God.
