What is the best way to tell someone that their rage/anger at you is unjust without it being used against you?

People don't need to justify their feelings to anyone. If they feel angry, they feel angry.

If someone is angry at you, obviously theythink you are responsible for something bad which has happened. When you question the legitimacy of their feelings, you are refusing to confront their feelings and simply trying to focus the blame on them instead of examining your own behavior.

No, feelings are not thoughts, they are not logical, and telling someone that their feelings are not justified does not resolve anything except it makes you feel better.
