Its not the governments job. In fact there are far too many government jobs and just across the board they should have to downsize everything by 50%.
Dont forget that government jobs do not provide real value. Essentially government jobs are basically a service nobody buys so at the end of the day America is not better off for that economic activity.
Think on a small scale for an example. you're on an island with 10 people. 9 people hunt food and one person divies up the food and cooks it. Versus 4 people hunt food and 6 people divy up the food and cook it. Sure you can have far more complex meal preparation but far less food is made with the same amount of labor. This is basically 99% of government jobs.
They are a form of welfare basically. And they were specifically used this way in a few time periods historically. The only real opportunity is paying ahead on necessary infrastructure. The rest is useless.
The problem isn't jobs its lack of incentive from employers. Nobody wants to work a job that pays shit, doesn't give pay rises that meet or are greater than inflation, doesn't have any benefits, requires you to work overtime, shit work environment and is short-staffed.
The government does not create jobs. Reducing government regulation of businesses does. Biden is doing everything to reduce job availability by restricting fossil fuels and letting illegals underbid real Americans. More jobs? Vote Trump!!
My update: Trump gave us the lowest unemployment among Whites Blacks Asians Latinos Women In 50 years. Our leadership sucks. Simple as that. Small businesses are the major employers, not woke corporations. Vote Trump or DeSantis next time.
I disagree. Government regulations can be very stimulating for the economy as it can push a stagnant economy to require innovation and a shakeup which gives room for new players as well as large amount of investments in new infrastructure and development.
The fossil fuel thing is a perfect example where its a dying industry already. While private industry is happy to go down with the ship it is more valuable for the nation if they are forced to transition early to both develop and test the new technologies as well as get a head start compared to other competitors around the world to ensure your country will have a technological edge and thus an economic edge.
There is a saying, "Necessity is the mother of all inventions". As such requiring them to solve new problems is the same as requiring them to innovate more than they already have which is hardly the worst idea as long as you know what you want from them.
Governments donāt create jobs. Never have never will. Governments pick which businesses win or lose for a variety of reasons, but they cannot create jobs. By regulating or taxing an industry to death they can destroy jobs, and by deregulating or subsidizing they can create conditions for the free market to come in and create jobs, but the government never created those jobs.
The Leftist labor unions (see Lenin) make it impossible.-They run a welfare system for employees structured the same as Government. It makes it to costly and thatās the point. You land lock everything with the environmental protection 💩. You make it to expensive and Lawyers Paradise. The country will implode.
Well, the Government should not *create* jobs directly, but rather implement policies conducive to job creation (by the citizenry), but I know what you meant.
"Not just the government, but also American companies. Why look outward and not inward?"
Because the liberal bureaucracy is obsessed with regulating business to death! Main one being environmental. Other countries don't give a fuck. They have cheaper energy, cheaper labor, virtually no environmental regulations and so on! And now they think we can go green overnight? It's amateur hour in D. C. And of course, going green only benifits China. They'll build more coal plants to manufacture green products that will cripple our economy.
Money, money, money it's greed plain and simple back in the day we took pride in our work , and now quality is a thing of the past just think about how poor quality is on some of the things you buy. Buildings, houses all of these new structures are built of poor quality i see this every day i could understand inflation if more stuff was built here in u. s. and i believe that china, and mexico and everywhere else do make good products but not for u. s. because of greed
Because that's what Trump was doing. Anything Trump did, the democrats do exactly the opposite! If Trump announced that he refuses to eat shit on a plate, democrats will start chowing down on it and get as many people as they could to shit on a plate for them to eat it!! They'd even come up with a cook book, "101 Ways To Cook A Delicious Shit Dinner!".
The whole gun control and jobs debate is mostly about taking away individual autonomy, making them abdicate responsibility to a 3rd party (the government in this case) for their own 'well-being and security.'
The government is trying to create greater dependence, which equals more votes, more control and more wealth... for them. Calling them elites is too generous. I prefer 'rent seekers.'
Basically because of wage expenses. American workers need to be paid more than workers in other countries. It's cheaper to manufacture abroad and then ship into the US than it is to important production materials and then pay Americans to manufacture your product.

Iām a little confused because thereās a widespread worker shortage in America. Companies are complaining they canāt find enough people to meet their needsā¦.. and thatās with a historically low unemployment rate. There are more jobs than workers but Iāll grant that maybe you live in a pocket of the country that doesnāt mirror the overall trend.

US companies outsourcing labour certainly is a significant betrayal.
One of the best things you actually do and have going for you in the States is that you tend to try to buy products which say 'made in the USA' this is helpful because it ensures that money and therefore wealth is recycled within your borders rather than leaving the country.
It's not government's job to create jobs. Government's job is to manage an economy that encourages businesses to flourish, and that's how jobs are created.
I'm guessing you haven't noticed that unemployment is at an all time low. So there's no need to create jobs. People are practically giving jobs away right now and many companies are begging people to come work for them. Nice try, but we don't need more jobs in America.
That shouldn't be the government's job. The government should just stay of the way. Very little the government serves any useful purpose. However, they often great harm and make a bad situation much worse.
Do Americans want the jobs created? Thats the question. We can bring back low paying production work but do people really want to work their asses off for $12 dollars an hour. One can pick up the paper and see companies practically begging people to apply for the low paying jobs we already have.
the government doesn't create jobs, businesses do. The best thing the government can do is stay out of the way and not muck it up. Besides, right now there are more jobs than their are people to do the jobs
@exitseven Yea, an anon guy shared some reputable sources about how much jobs are available and stuff like that. I didnāt even know such a site existed. š„“
Not the governments place to make jobs. Itās usually the private sector.. small business, corporations, franchises, factories. We donāt want the government directly involved in that part, however, the amount of greed that CEOs have to make money and control everything is why we donāt have jobs

The government added 6.4 million jobs last year.

See bad policies not conducive to job creation.

Because it's not the governments job to create jobs. The purpose of business is to pay taxes, and make a profit.
The "people" are in between the two as employees of the state and private sector.
The problems arise when it comes to multinationals. They will outsource to the cheapest nation to keep things profitable.
Hen the problem with America, is capitalism.

Next time you answer a question, check to see if there is an update. ī
I rarely look at other opinions before I offer mine. There was a post a few weeks back about that and that's what most people do.
I'm guessing you haven't noticed that unemployment is at an all time low. So there's no need to create jobs. People are practically giving jobs away right now and many companies are begging people to come work for them.

there are lots of jobs if you dont mind fast food or retail. Try supporting a family on 15 bucks an hour.
