Well, trying to convince someone who seems to have their mind made up is pointless because nothing you say or do will change their beliefs they hold at their core.

All I will say is that in my experience with police, being in a profession where you need to be vigilant and being a soldier have similarities, these guys get up every day and head into work while saying goodbye to their loved ones with the morbid thought of that could potentially be the last time they do that. At the end of the day, it is a high stress job that requires mental and physical fortitude that few possess. To be able to perform in support of your community and brothers/sisters in uniform to ensure they all go home at the end of the day.

My little sister is a cop and I know how much she loves being able to make a difference in the community she serves. I hear the crazy shit that takes place in the city. I know which parts of the city are dangerous and I know that she tends to get stuck on a lot of violent encounters and the aftermath of bad crimes.

All of my encounters with police have been good. I only cooperated with what they asked and took accountability for the fuck ups that led to the encounter which they tend to respect and appreciate, which led to me getting more warnings over tickets and no arrests or court appearances. This is coming from a man who is mixed, but looks more black. So I already have that stereotype against me, but it hasn't given me any reason not to trust them.

Plus, it helps when you know cops that in turn give advice about situations that cops can put you in a potential "got you" scenario and what to say so you can avoid entrapment or consenting to something that can't be done. There are shitty apples, sure, but most are good.

Personally I've never given any police officer a reason to distrust me, therefore I've never distrusted them. The majority of police officers are there to actually do their job properly and protect people, and many of them do an amazing job, in my country anyway.
But as with every group there are always bad apples, you shouldn't let those bad apples affect your view of an entire set of people. There are bad people in every walk of life, every colour and nationality, but that doesn't make everyone bad and worthy of distrust.

I'm semi-pro-police and I don't trust them... they seem to be useless for the most part other than keeping those in line who if there were no police would turn into criminals. You know the border kind of people where the fear of getting caught actually keeps them from being criminals, but if that fear is removed they'll easily become one if they think there is no law.

To me they are more of a indirect help than a direct help, but I will say country sheriff's are WAY better and nicer than city police. They tend to try to resolve things in a adult way, without always resorting to your under arrest or here is a ticket. Deputies I half way trust, but city police I am not even sure its worth ever calling them for anything. I definitely don't trust the tribal police at all.

One of my best friends is a cop. I knew him before he even wanted to be one, so I know exactly what kind of a person he is.

I trust him 100%. But that doesn't mean I trust other cops like that. Especially anymore.

You do not need to trust them. They are not your friend. They are people you call in a crisis to resolve an emergency. You just need to follow their commands and if they do wrong battle them in court. If you call the police, it is because it is a situation you cannot handle yourself.

To answer the question, the police outnumber the military 10 to 1. If even half of police were as bad as the Left makes them out to be, there would be no law and order and most citizens would have problems with the police. The military, even with their technology, would be hard pressed to stop the police without an all-out war. If the police were bloodthirsty, trigger happy thugs, you would not see stories of them rescuing kids out of burning buildings. There are bad apples and the media does not get paid to report feel-good stories.

I know my local law enforcement officers. They all know me by sight and by name. If I ever have to call 911 I'll have the benefit of the doubt in a crisis. I'll never be put on hold.

I am not afraid of driving although there are about 45,000 people killed every due to car accidents nor am I afraid of about 250,000 people that die every year due to medical mistakes. I am afraid and do not trust police that kill about 1,000 every year whom majority are resisting arrest or don’t know how to behave. That is who I am afraid of. Here is the chart.

That's going to be hard to do everybody's different the only thing that I can say and it's because I say it to myself is that they have started petitions to get rid of your local police department and they want to put it in New World Order or whoever thugs are police department I don't like a lot of cops but I also put myself in their shoes it is 1 hard job no matter what you do you're not appreciated but I will fight to keep my Police Department if they try to take them away

No institution is perfect. The same way there a re scumbag doctors, teachers etc.

Whether you trust them or not isn’t relevant because you need them. If you hate firemen guess who you’re going to call anyway when your house is on fire. Lack of trust just hurts you, no one else.

You would have to trust every person for that to work and that would be foolish. Police are people who are full of bias's and mistakes. You would have to trust the idea of the police. I would trust the police more if there were more rigid requirements to become one.

I don't trust the police at all times take a look at what they did to George Floyd and to boot the officer had no guts to plead guilty when he knows the knee to the back stopped Mr. Floyd from breathing thus causing his death.

For the most part, you can't. Our justice system is supposed to prevent police abuse but it fails a lot of the time.

However from what I have seen, there is no specific belief that they want to uphold. When they do, that is when you *really* shouldn't be trusting them.
