Yes, it's not just Moscow's propaganda. Ukraine does suffer a Nazi-infestation!
https://www.reuters.com/article/us-cohen-ukraine-commentary-idUSKBN1GV2TY
And it's gotten so bad, Washington's military-agency Combating Terrorism Center at West Point found links (recruitment & otherwise) between Ukraine's & U. S. Neo-Nazis!
https://ctc.usma.edu/the-nexus-between-far-right-extremists-in-the-united-states-and-ukraine/
And the sad thing is that the Nazis are Kiev's "greatest weapon" & "greatest threat" at the same time!
https://www.theguardian.com/world/2014/sep/10/azov-far-right-fighters-ukraine-neo-nazis
If anything, the Nazi threat in Ukraine could have been an opportunity for the 3 (Washington, Kiev, and Moscow) to work together to eliminate the treat. But given the geopolitics of Washington's Cold War-era desire to regime-change Moscow & Pres. Biden's covering-up on his son's Ukraine corruption, it's come to this.
I do not support it. I cannot support it. Hell, it doesn't have to be this way. I'm a dual-citizen Filipino-American, and Manila (which has chosen pragmatism & not Cold War geopolitical dogma) posted 11.8% G. D. P.-growth for 2021Q2…
https://www.rappler.com/business/gross-domestic-product-philippines-q2-2021/ (PH-based wildly anti-administration Washington-paid state-media Rappler)
& 8.3% for 2022Q1, as then-Pres. Duterte's last economic review.
https://www.rappler.com/business/gross-domestic-product-philippines-q1-2022/ (Washington state-media Rappler again, again admits the numbers, but ties to talk it down)
And while I shared as early as 2020 the U.N.'s warnings of worldwide famine due to the lockdowns (which is now undoubtedly here), while 90+ food-processing plants across the U. S. have burst into flames (or otherwise gone offline) for no known reasons and while the U. S. logistics & supply-chain systems are in chaos, the PH's new Pres. Marcos is tackling agriculture head-on making that industry the focus.
I'm not saying the PH is perfect (lol Far from it! 🤣 So much has yet to be done.), but the difference between management & mismanagement is real and can be noticed. The U. S. deserves better. F—-ing up, gas-lighting the citizenry that the inflation does not exist or is "transitory" (when even mere Bachelors in Economics like myself would know otherwise & so should their Masters & Ph. D.'s in government), forcing taxpayers to fund Neo-Nazis, prioritizing geopolitics over the well-being of the citizens, and declaring this is how it should be for all the foreseeable future… while other jurisdictions (not just the PH) do better by choosing pragmatism… is just deplorable.20 Reply

+1 yYes, I'm not in favor of feeding Russia money for oil at the moment, even though it would lower our gas prices.
It's important to note that the Russia situation isn't the only cause of high oil, but it is the main cause that Biden is related to. The other cause is that oil production, in the US and otherwise, slowed down due to less demand in 2020. As demand rose again, prices have risen as the supply struggles to catch up (this happened under both Trump and Biden, and was the fault of neither president). Getting the US oil production back up to pre-pandemic levels will be good for our prices, but until then, we'll be stuck with some expensive gas prices30 Reply
+1 yNo because the US has the ability to produce its own gas and oil and not need to import. The US could say that there can't be any exports of it, until domestic demand it met and there is a safe surplus, such as filling up the strategic reserve again.
Imports and exports are blocked all the time, for various reasons.
Then the federal government could go back to Trump era policies to increase energy production.
Right now the federal government is basically saying they aren't going to do anything to help and its not their fault, but it is. The Democrats actually like high gas prices.102 Reply

u +1 yWhere's the proof that gas prices are tied to the war in the Ukraine?
27 Reply- +1 y
Russia is among the top five when it comes to supplying the world with gas and oil, and since the Western nations, led as they are by incompetent buffoons, have decided to no longer purchase from Russia (because of the special operation - NOT "war" - in Ukraine) this has resulted in a shortfall, thus pushing up the price.
There. There's your proof. Happy now? :) - +1 y
@Snsl153 That's not proof; that's a theory. I can also spoit theories that this is tied to things like the Keystone pipeline shutdown, failure to authorize construction of refineries, and faiure to authorize offshore drilling.
If you are angry that I want proof rather than simply accepting the unsupported assertions of an inept administration, then stay angry becase I will continue to demand proof. - +1 y
Of for goodness' sake! When an item is in short supply but the demand remains constant, the cost of purchasing said item will go up. It's basic supply and demand economics. Our world is interconnected, no nation is on its own. In Australia, where I live, the cost has also skyrocketed, so how the F*** can this be Biden's fault!
- +1 y
@Snsl153 Aren't you triggered?

@WhiteBoyChill I gave up trying to discuss facts with her. Dedicated leftists never let the truth get in the way of their argument!
- +1 y
"Dedicated leftist"? Me? Ahahahaha! :P
Okay, a really easy question for you then. How does the fact that the U. S. only ever imported 2% of it's oil from Russia prior to the war, have any bearing upon GLOBAL prices? Other major consumers (like China and India) and producers (like Saudi Arabia, Iran, Russia) play a much bigger role when it comes to determining this.
At the moment the entire globe is experiencing a major increase in the cost of oil. Gas too. This, in turn, of course makes everything else expensive, because transportation (hence global trade) is fossil-fuel based. Is any of this making any sense yet? Maybe I should write a 'MyTake' on this.

+1 yFirst of all, don't be a dupe. The Russia situation isn't the only reason gas prices are high. As usual, the oil companies are gauging everyone during a crisis time, as they have Russia as the perfect foil. The lie is already being spread for them, so why not make money from it?
Second of all, compared to most of the rest of the world, gas prices are still lowest among industrialized nations, in the USA.
I just returned from Portugal where gas is about 9.60 a gallon because I rented a hybrid that only used 95 octane or above. But, I was getting 58 miles to the gallon combined driving, so that's just about the same as getting 28-29 miles to gallon combined here in the USA at the equivalent price. However, if you have a hybrid in the USA, you're doing much better than the rest of the world.

+1 yWhy do people believe that gas prices will come down after the war is over?
Biden is looking for excuses. On inflation, he screwed up. The issue is inflation was already rising before the war. He and the Fed need to fix that.
Gas prices is actually a separate issue. And that issue is oil companies are taking our asses for a ride.20 Reply 1.1K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. Just remember he blamed peoples high expectations and told us to stop complaining. He also is now saying that gas station owners need to lower their prices. So given his logic he would want gas station owners to lower their price of gas to the point where they are selling at a total loss or at a low enough price that it ends up costing them more money then they are bringing in. Then he would turn around and tell them to stop complaining about it.

No the Biden administration applied all sorts of ass backward regulations on domestic drilling and refineries. High fuel prices and inflation predated Putin's invasion of Ukraine and reflect the policies of the Biden Administration to constrict supply.

The only reason Putin had the money to withstand world sanctions was because Biden reduced our own production of oil and instead bought it from Russia. Going from a net exporter of oil to a net importer other countries also had to buy from other countries which for Europe was most notably Russia. If anything Biden's energy policy is what led to the invasion of Ukraine. But instead of opening up our own oil reserves we turn to Iran and Venezuela, two countries who hate us. What happens when they decide to invade one of their neighbors; after they get rich selling us oil?

@Amy10223 Yes, it is the whole world but America has oil an gas reserves that are estimated to last 200 years. That gives the US a big advantage. And I'm looking at my own country America in this statement. I love my country, and we are blessed with an abundance of natural resources and should be self sufficient, but the people running the country saying that we take so much of the natural resources of other countries are making policies to continue taking the natural resources of other countries instead of being self sufficient.

@Bklynbadboy12 yea we are almost running out of our own reserves cause as I told you the other day Biden does not want anymore drilling. Therefore of course we have to pay more for our own reserves

We'd have to pay more anyway because the United States consumes more oil than we produce. So even if he allowed drilling it still wouldn't produce enough oil anyway we'd still be in the same situation cause we still have to import oil
