1.7K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. Because Republicans aren't pro-life, they're pro-poverty.
Banning abortion adversely impacts the poorest communities. So far they haven't passed eugenics laws forcing sterilisation, but watch this space. In 1932 nobody thought Hitler would murder over six million people in gas chambers and condemn millions more on the battlefield.11 Reply- +1 y
Republicans aren’t the exception regarding “pro poverty” though. There are a half dozen or more major metropolitan areas in the US that have been under strictly democratic leadership for decades. Meanwhile, in those same areas poverty and homelessness grows year in and year out while property taxes soar and the people “in charge” never fail to vote for themselves raises every year or two.
There’s no point in exposing the truth if you’re unwilling to expose the whole truth.

+1 yIf she gets pregnant that's her choice having her own consequences.
Nobody approves of the pregnant 16-year-old, but I'm sure nobody sat her down and gave her a talk to start humping and get pregnant. He's right that she doesn't have the emotional maturity or the financial means... and that's usually why they either end up having her parents pay or the state... and the state will go after him for more than she'll get because big daddy government wants their cut.
I'm assuming this has something to do with the pro-abortion/anti-abortion debate... The same argument, she accepted the risks just to have sex all willy-nilly, and there are consequences to that. I mean sorry if she was relying on abortion as her BC, if she is in one of those 9 states... but NOT MY PROBLEM. It's hers, her parents, the dude, and his parents (if he wasn't committing statutory rape, and if that's the case he should be charged).
Know your state laws... boo hoo, that it's no longer a mandate straight from the federal government. Use your votes at the state level if it's that important instead of twerking in protest. lolz
... and I think it's funny that most of the twerking in protest is in states where it's not banned. I'm pro-abortion by the way. Nobody is going to change hearts and minds by firebombing care facilities for mothers that want their children, twerking, and irrational overly emotional arguments.10 Reply
+1 yWell 16 it proves how stupid it is in a way.
however the law is to protect kids from teens having a ‘I want to adopt, then realise how hard it is raising a child”
the realities are if a 10 year old is raped and pregnant then she is expected to give birth and raise the child.
https://www.snopes.com/news/2022/07/05/abortion-10-year-old-rape-victim-ohio/
https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2022/jul/03/ohio-indiana-abortion-rape-victim10 ReplyI guess it could be because during adoption, you must prove to be able to take care of the child.
On the other hand, the to "take back" pregnancy, you must kill the embryo, which could have been adopted if it were allowed to live till its birth.
Adoption is like cakes. To distribute cakes to others, you must pass hygiene rules and controls to ensure others won't get sick because of you. On the other hand, when you bake it only for yourself, you can even put a rat into your cake.19 Reply- +1 y

What double standards? they are two different things. The reason pregnancy in minors isn't illegal (I assume) is because the government knows it will happen anyways, and there is no point in making it illegal as that will further worsen the lives of the mother and baby who are struggling to begin with. They can make it illegal to adopt a baby though because its not something that is a by product of another action that will happen regardless of the legality. Teens shouldn't be parents. (not that they can't be a good parent, but you are still not fully developed yourself or financially stable enough to provide for the child)
10 Reply3.5K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. You're not supposed to get pregnant though. Illegal pregnancy lol.

But you've seen teen parents tho, right?
- +1 y
Shouldn't they be punished if it's illegal?
- +1 y
Oh wait, having a kid already is one.

I like how you came in as Pro life d bag but transformed into antinatalist sexy beast
- +1 y
Hope of my life
- +1 y
So you've been always the sexy beast eh?
+1 yThe thing is they shouldn't be getting pregnant as teens but they do it anyways and it's out of people's control. At least when it comes to adopting it involves more.
427 Reply- +1 y
So teen abortion should be legalized by default yes?
- +1 y
I don't see why they can;t use protection. I'm still against abortion regardless and people need to take responsibility for their actions.
- +1 y
Because protection doesn't always work, and its only effective if its used properly

@Subarugirl yo move to California walk into a rite aid bam walls of contraceptive… dollars not expensive
- +1 y
@Subarugirl If people want to have sex, they need to be responsible. If they need to learn about sex ed then so be it.
- +1 y
and who is going to teach them cosmo? They don't want the schools to teach them, lots of states are trying to ban certain types of contraceptive and make it more difficult to get others... and the track record with parents actually teaching their children hasn't exactly had stellar results.
- +1 y
@Subarugirl then move to Canada HAHA
- +1 y
- +1 y
@Subarugirl best damn country there ever was. I don't know. Also it’ll help u not complain bout this current country. Better health care system. Hockey

@Subarugirl no but someone on gag ain’t gonna help… but Canada is ur safest bet
- +1 y
- +1 y
@Subarugirl I'm sure they can learn online.
- +1 y
- +1 y
There's a limit to online learning, sis
- +1 y
right lets just leave important education about sexual health and reproduction in the hands of a bunch of 12 and 13 years olds on google and pornhub…. I can't see a problem with that at all...
- +1 y
@Subarugirl whoa there’s kids present… if u say the name of the site they will go to it
- +1 y
Say, even after contraceptives and sex ed they still get knocked up — shouldn't the kids get abortion? Since they tried what they could to prevent it... And abstinence only works for religious people who think jesus gives a fuck who gets their v carf
- +1 y
@Subarugirl exactly. And they get all kinds of misconception.
- +1 y
@Subarugirl losing one's virginity early is, in my opinion, healthier than learning online sex ed... Because let's be honest, internet cannot be trusted
- +1 y
the internet is full of inaccurate and false information... there are still full ass grown men who don't understand how menstruation works or that vaginas don't just get stretched out from sex...
- +1 y
@Subarugirl you know there actual books written by male authors where the female character can hold her periods back. Like wtf? We can't!
- +1 y
Yes… I do lol
+1 yin America most schools often teach children sex education in high school. but some start earlier and teach it in middle school.
sadly the adoption process in America takes months or years to file. yet by then a girl could of had one or more children. which is why many couples often adopt children from other countries.
00 Reply2K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. It's generally true. She likely doesn't have the emotional maturity or the financial means of taking care of the child.
But if she gets pregnant... ... then that's all still true. And she's often assisted by parents or family members.
What does the person in the photo expect, if she's 16 then we should forcefully steal her baby from her? Like yeah, it's not an ideal situation so I guess we get to steal her literal child haha. 🤪04 Reply- +1 y
The double standards is there because life isn't simple.
If she's 16, yes, she probably shouldn't be adopting. So we present her from adopting a baby she had no right to in the first place.
If she's 16 and gets pregnant, yes, she probably shouldn't be a mother but the alternative is to force her to have an abortion or wait until she gives birth and then forcefully take her baby. Both of which is just crazy. - +1 y
A woman should be allowed to both adopt and abort :/
- 506 opinions shared on Society & Politics topic.
+1 yThere's no ground for double standard.
Getting pregnant is purely a personal choice.
Adopting is taking "Responsibility" for someone else's child. The state is responsible to ensure that the adoptive parents are capable of giving the child reasonable care.18 Reply- +1 y
How the heck are you not responsible for raising your own kid?
- +1 y
It's idiotic to treat children differently
- +1 y
No one said one is not responsible for one's own child.
When it comes to biological children state have no right to interfere unless in exceptional situations but when it comes to adoption, the law is responsible for ensuring that the parents are capable of raising the adopted kids.
It is not the children who are being treated differently, it is the situation which is different
- +1 y

2.6K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. It is ironic isn't it. You might argue lesbians shouldn't be able to adopt but it is ok if they go to the pub, get drunk and get pregnant. At least 16 yo girls can't go to the pub.
02 Reply- +1 y
Why shouldn't lesbians adopt tho
- +1 y
Didn't say I thought they shouldn't though in truth I think a child - all other things being equal, please note being equal - is best placed having biological female and male as parents.
It was just a parallel.
You can stop a 16 yo adopting but you can't stop her getting pregnant.
And you could stop lesbians adopting but you can't stop them getting pregnant either.
So why try to is the bottom line.
+1 yBecause Republicans are psychos who doesn’t make sense
10 ReplySimple, if a 16 yr old gets pregnant, then her parents are still responsible for her. Therefore, they can also be responsible for her offspring, since they are obviously good at raising children.
+1 ylol… they can’t physically stop anyone who is fertile, from becoming pregnant unless they use forceful manners
they CAN tell you no, to adopting a kid…03 Reply- +1 y
That's stupid tho
- +1 y
adoption requires A LOT… part of that a lot is economical and emotional stability for the sake of the child, which, most teens can not provide. so letting a teen adopt a child, when they, themselves are still children OR childlike, would be very bad, and it would affect the adopted child the absolute most. so no, I don’t think it’s stupid…
- +1 y
Why do we not think the same when a teen get knocked up? :/
+1 yBecause accidents happen that does not mean she is mature enough to adopt. If she is pregnant she is stuck with a baby and rather than give it up the family tries to do their best to help her raise it. Why would a girl that age need to adopt?

+1 y"Allowed?" to be pregnant?
If they don't have the brains not to get pregnant when they know darn well they can't raise a family, they certainly won't have the brains to adopt a kid and raise them either.10 Reply
+1 ymost pregnant teens don't have the emotional maturity to raise a baby either.. mom and dad end up raising it with her at home.
00 Reply648 opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. I wouldn't say allowed... just it's already done so the only way to stop it now is death or adoption.
00 Reply18.6K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. Thats a great point. But again, the heart of anti-abortionists is religion. They think a bean sized fetus has a soul.

Yeah. But if they aren't mature enough to adopt, how come they're mature enough to become teen parents? :/
- +1 y
They're not!! That's the whole point. If they were mature, they wouldn't be engaging in activities that could get them pregnant!
- +1 y
And if we weren't conservative, we would have educated them to use contraceptives because everyone has needs
- +1 y
Unfortunately, we're taking the god route here. If you fuck up once, Eve, you're done for.

I don't know how they do things in your country, but here in America, we DO educate them!

@anon1903 I apologize; I didn't see this earlier.
It was a combination of 2 things: One, my parents are conservative and didn't let me go to Sex Ed class. And Two, I was (and am) a very curious person, and I like to find out about things that interest me. - +1 y
Re: update: No, it's not a double standard at all. For the occurrence of a Double Standard, there has to actually be two standards present. That isn't true in this case, because there is only one standard -- the one for adoptions. The other factor (teen pregnancy) has zero standards.
3.3K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. Kind of like baby sitting. One person is only allowed to watch a couple of kids. But a woman can bare multiple times that number and it is alright for her to watch them!
