Should it be mandatory that a person should know certain emergency repairs before getting a drivers license ?

Recently I saw a show on TV where there was a rich family and the dad was going to teach his worthless teenage kids how to change a fat tire on their car. turns out he didn't know how either the level of stupid and dependency on their money to save them was off the scale
Should people know how to do basic emergency repairs flat tire, jump a dead battery etc before getting a drivers license

People should know how to work on cars and do various other repairs as a high school graduation requirement. It's not just about learning to do the repairs, it's about learning to think. It requires critical thinking and organized thought. It's also about having some confidence in doing things. A lot of people think they don't know anything about cars so they don't even try. If they never try they will continue not knowing anything. You learn by doing.

My understanding is that in some countries having basic knowledge of cars is required to get a drivers license.

To the extent that their incompetence impedes others, definitely. I mean, they’re creating jobs for roadside assistance, fine. But their unnecessarily broke down car is smurfing up a commute for hundreds or possibly thousands of other drivers. I’ve been driving in California for over two years now and i’d happily pull the plug on 1/3 of all drivers on the road.

They should, but even if they know how they won't do it. This is what emergency road service is for.

It should be part of driver’s ed.
