Trending & News Well, you already know my stance, so this isn't so much answer your question since you know the answer but making my voice heard. Yes, I absolutely support the rights of the LGBTQ+ community of which I am not even a part of.
I respect the decision for those people that want to be with the person they truly love, be it any gender. It in no way has a bearing on my life or any personal choices I make, so why not be happy for them?
It is not different than me being tolerant to other races, religions, etc. I worry about myself and not what others are doing. I know gay people. I know (not personally) one trans person. They have all been wonderful friends and very caring. And you know what?
Not a single one of those people I speak of (including you) has ever been any different than that nor has ever pushed any of your beliefs or choices on me. Sure, we talk about it because I am open to doing so. Not a single person though has ever pressured me.
So, I fully support the community and the right to be happy with the person you want to be happy with. That will not change... ever.

Yes, I absolutely do support the rights of the LGBTQ+ community! What shocks me is just how many people do not support even their basic human rights! As of 7/20/22 @ 5:17pm est. The poll is disgustingly at 42% against human rights for gay, lesbian, bisexual, and trans human beings! I have never been more disgusted by some of the people of GaG than I am right now. (Also, I'm not at all surprised that it appears to be majority men who are homophobic⦠and frankly (but ironically) it likely IS all male! Everyone who voted āNOā should be ashamed of themselves!



Love, is love, is love, and if you are against same-sex relationships, then itās simple, just donāt have one! But being against basic human rights because of how someone was born, or who they love is the absolute WORST kind of small minded bigotry!

As a part of it, of course, I support it. We are just people. I don't want to intervene in others' lives and want to live a regular one, which is happening. I'm glad that I could get married to a man or woman. I'm happy I can work without worrying about being judged. I don't want those things to be taken away from anyone that is a part of the LGBTQ+ community. That's all I ask. I see it is a problem for some people because of their religion. You can disagree with the way we live our lives. Many atheists disagree with religion as a thing. An atheist mustn't try to take away faith or disrespect people who subscribe to it. Same with a religious person trying to do the same to someone else because they don't follow their personal beliefs.

Yes. This does not mean I support every single thing the LGBTQ community says. One of my chief objections is how many, but by no means all, members of the LGBTQ community characterize people who don't agree with them.
I am a member of the community, and I would have to agree with you on that as well. I see a shift in those that were originally advocating for tolerance and equality and now they are spreading intolerance to anyone that disagrees.
It is frustrating as that is what creates a lot of push-back against the community. At least, in my opinion.

As someone whoās gay, I honestly think thereās a strong degree of toxicity within the LGBT community as well. Members of the community hate on other LGBT members, such as pan and bi people hating on one another because they go by different labels or lesbians/gays hating on bi people for being more likely to be unfaithful. For a community about love, inclusivity, and acceptance, we seem to lack common courtesy and any respect for those who arenāt in our community or even those who are. The idea of having a label and having to sort yourself under a category can be very toxic as well, in addition to the points you mentioned about a lack of respect and courtesy for other groups (especially religion.)
I will not deny this at all. As with any group, there are those that will take it to the extreme or make it toxic. I have dealt with gate-keeping in the community before and it frustrates me to no end. Most of the people in the community that I interact with are fantastic though. I try my best to stay away from the toxic bunch.

Of course i support equal rights for all. But most people donāt really understand what that means. Too many people confuse privileges for rights. If itās not guaranteed by the US Constitution, itās not a right. That said, iām not in favor of special privileges for anyone. Equal rights and equal responsibilities. No more and no less. As a society, we have failed ourselves and each other in this regard too often for too long.
Yeah, I'm totally cool with homosexuals and bisexual people and I support their rights and have no problem being friends with anyone who's any of the above.
As for trans people, I think you are what you are from a biological POV, but if they're honest and open about it, then it's fine.

Depends on what your referring to as rights. By rights you mean I have to call someone by the pronouns of their choice then no am not for rights for LGBT+ community. If you mean rights like they can go to the same establishments that I go to then yeah am for rights for LGBT+ community.

Itās also disingenuous to label everyone who disapproves of a lifestyle as hatful. I donāt approve of being obese, and advocate for a healthy lifestyle. It doesnāt mean I hate fat people.
What I do hate is people insisting all straight people approve of that lifestyle. Like I said, go be gay. My approval is not required for anyone to do that. Nor is my approval required for anyone to be fat. Iām sure aspects of my lifestyle are not approved of by everyone. Gay people and straight people are exactly the same except for their sexual preference. Some are good people, some aren't.
