No, we have to learn from it.
Also, that kid who shot up that school was paid to do that and is now living in Mexico with a new identity.
Why was he paid to do that? To push for more gun control policies.

I blame those who were giving the orders, not the individual cops. Those who were giving the orders should be fired and held up to an inquest.

Jimmy 2 , at this point I agree with you. Maybe we need to add some practical application in the training. When I was a medical officer in the Division of Corrections in Florida,, my job was Lab and X-Ray but in orientation, I was trained at the pistol range with a Smith and Wesson 38 special with a 4 inch combat barrel, a Ruger 30-06 and a Browning 12 guage 5 shot automatic. During a prison riot I was expected to act accordingly. I was deputized one night on a manhunt. The Sheriff knew who had firearms in the house and requested our involvement. Very tense moments. My neighbor and I took a truck with a mounted spotlight. We saw nothing. The guy turned himself in for a Coke and a Candy Bar. I would imagine that the moment you change from engaged to wait to waiting to engage are surreal. I would think your mind handles the situation like you are watching TV until that first shot rings out and you realize that it was pointed at you. At that point societies rules go out the door. From what I understand they had multiple opportunities to engage but did not. Why not? I could see a "who is in command" moment occuring but not for long. With every shot another child lost his or her life. I worked in the medical examiners offices of two states. I have a very suspicious mind. When it comes to possibilities no one is beyond suspicion.
This was a tragedy that never should have happened. however to place the blame on the guys that were on premises that day does them a big disservice.
There was a failure of leadership. The head of the school police was a political appointee and not a real cop. Cops are afraid to act without authorization because they could get fired or maybe even put in jail. Why would any cop want to take a chance.
That is a big part of why they were all afraid to storm that classroom and take out the shooter.
Absolutely. A complete disgrace. I hear the number closer to 400. 400 almost all men, I’m sure, supposedly all professional law enforcement, who took oaths to protect and serve, and they let 19 innocent children die. And two teachers, raising your youth. Pathetic. All the guns in the world couldn’t fix this situation.
Embarrassment doesn’t foster change. The citizens of Texas should be making immediate and drastic changes. Every one of those cops should be charged with aiding and abetting a mass murderer.
Is this school shooting number 347 or 348 for the year of 2022 in the United States of America? It's so hard to keep up sometimes.
I haven't studied Uvalde, but i imagine the small town cops were afraid and untrained for mass shootings. can't quite blame them completely.
Bottom line: we can either prep for mass shootings, or start regulating guns.Police in this country are trained their safety and life matters most.
Very few of them will be willing to get shot and potentially killed for another person they don't even know much less be thankful to them.
It's a glowing endorsement of the 2nd amendment, clearly the police cannot be counted on to defend you so you have to defend yourself.
Only Uvalde they proved to be incompetent and a waste of Tax payers dollars and should be revamped.
You should be infuriated, not embarrassed.
False flag.
