they all decided to save themselves instead and wait for the 16 people in the SWAT team to risk their lives instead, which they thankfully and finally did

I was chatting yesterday with a tourist who was public safety director in his home town. He thought so. At least fire the ones giving stand down orders.

Twenty years ago, children bled to death at Columbine, hours after the shooters had committed suicide, with 800 cops outside who wouldn’t storm the building.

Unbelievably, people think I shouldn’t have guns to defend myself! If cops won’t defend a child, there isn’t much hope for a middle aged man!

Folks keep talking about defund the police is a bad slogan. When in fact, some of these departments are so corrupt, they have to be dismantled and rebuilt.

Remember, they actually stopped the parents from going inside and rescuing their children, while the gunshots are going off in the background.

Start with the senior officer who told the cops on the ground to not treat it as an 'active shooter' situation. but treat it as a 'barricaded hostage' situation, him doing that over ruled the officers on the ground. It is because of him that those children and their teachers died.

Doesn’t mean they were cowards for not going in. Unless you were there you don’t know what really went down other than the outcome. I guarantee there were at least some prior service military there as well. Maybe they were following orders, even if they were stupid orders. Whatever the orders were they came from someone higher up, they need to find out who gave what orders then go from there.

Granted this was a terrible thing.

Most of them were probably following orders. Good soldiers follow orders!
If they went rouge and hurt or killed innocent children during a gun battle with the shooter. Then they would be tried for murder.
