Nope. I think both men and women should have some sort of profession that keeps them productive. House wives existed when washing clothes and dishes was something that had to be done by hand. They existed in a time when clothing had to be hung outside on a line and all clothing was made from cotton with no synthetic additives which had to be ironed every day. They had to be around the house to accept shipments of ice to be put in an ice box because refrigeration on a home scale didn't exist. There were no robotic or even electric vacuums, just a broom stick and a mop. Mega grocery stores didn't exist. Households generally had a bit of land which meant crops had to be harvested by hand, brought in from the fields, and then had to be canned and stored for the winter in a root cellar so that there was food to eat. If a household had a car, only the man had one. Women had to walk into town by foot and haul stuff back to the homestead like a mule. At one time, being a housewife was actually a job that needed to be done. Now it has been automated out of existence by technology and modern commerce. Women need to have a job. They also need to help out around the house with basic chores and child raising. Men also need to have a job, help out around the house with fixing things and heavy and harder labor that women struggle with, and be a part of their children's lives.
