He said “ did you notice that when gas prices were super high gas didn’t smell like anything but now that the gas prices are going back down it actually smells like gas and it’s stronger than the smell before?”
Did anyone else notice this?

The smell to gas is actually not the original smell of the gas, it's a smell that's added to the gas so it's not confused as water or any other liquid and it's so different and pungent to other smells you can't confused the smell, I wouldn't be surprised if they decided not to add the smell to it due to the shortage and whatnot, they were probably rushed to get the gas into the stations
Ordinary gasoline smells a lot like Diesel. In the past, refiners added aromatics (toluene) to make it smell sweeter. Now they don't need to do that because "up to" 10% ethanol is added, which gives it a sweet smell. Can't explain it smelling like nothing.
If that's a picture of fuel prices being "very high", then I wish we had that kind of "expensive" in the UK.
No, but i bet the smell it now once I used my extra money on chocolate milk and burritos

Now that you make me think about it, I think honestly it’s the same here for gasoline. I like gasoline smell and when I refuel I like to smell it, but it seems like the actual gasoline smells less than before.
Maybe it’s because I’m angry for all money wasted on it so I don’t mind smell 😅
Gas hasn’t smelled like it did when I was young for a long time.
It doesn’t seem to ignite with a match like it used to. Maybe it is the methanol?
Possibly the difference your father noticed was them adding more alcohol. Even though regular isn’t supposed to contain more than 10 % alcohol.
No. It smelled the same. I’m chemical sensitive so I would notice. Still just as strong to me.
You think gas prices are down, you must be high... That's probably why your sense of smell is messed up.
Gas prices where I live have went down…. It’s still high but it’s a dollar 50 less
This is not a Trump V Biden thing 🙄 I’m literally just talking about how the gas smells different that all 👎🏽
Yeah She’s Just some Democrat that got Vaccinated and is now Nose messed up with Brain fog 😶🌫️
Nah, I didn't notice that. And I'm pretty sure it's impossible. Hydrocarbons have a characteristic odor. And if there aren't any hydrocarbons, then there isn't any, you know, driving.
You're both fucking idiots.
The additives are mainly what you are smelling. But fuels comes in many different recipes and different brands have different recipes.
there's an app called flight radar that tracks commercial planes. They’re trying to push this narrative on fuel consumption and pollution.
Use the app and look at how many planes are in the air worldwide. Gas in short supply my ass.
Only so much of each type of fuel can be extracted from a barrel of crude oil. 19 gals gas, 9 diesel, 4 jet and 9 gal "other" products are what comes from a 42 gal barrel. Yearly gas consumption is over 128 billion gallons, jet fuel is currently around 12 billion, in 2019 18 billion. So it very likely a greater stock pile exist for jet fuel than gas for our clunkers.
@Sixgunsound Decisions to do what exactly. Stockpile? Fuels extracted from a barrel of crude? Im bit confused because I wasn't complaining towards an expectation that I never announced.
@kmg9150 I was trying to reply to the top post not you, my bad. What I was trying to say was that the people making the decisions to artificially manufacture a fuel shortage all have private jets, and are either hoarding enough of the fuel and other products to make a differenc for themselves or lying about the true nature of the ‘shortage’.
@Sixgunsound I do agree with you there. Much like anything thing else towards claims they make. If its projected enough in the media thats all thats needed to control mass amounts of people. Its is to gain support in the name against something rather than support. Like global warming. I went back over and looked at temperatures for the last 100 years (much prior to wasn't recorded) have been pretty consistent, nothing indicating what they claim, besides that they found data was being altered to support their claims... Just a couple "experts", media and government department to support an idea and most of public will eat it up for breakfast, lunch and dinner, meanwhile they won't eat it themselves. I've read that Biden been selling millions of our reserves to China...
Thanks for correction, speaks much about you. 🎩off to you sir
If it's different you would get lower or higher mileage than before. So the best way to tell is by keeping track of mileage.
Are you suggesting they diluted it or used something other than gas? If that's the case your car wouldn't run lol
Probably just in your head girl
I’m not suggesting they diluted the gas or anything I’m just saying the gas didn’t smell like anything
I never notice this. My truck still ran good so the gas was not watered down.
I never noticed.
My stuff seemed to run just fine.
Not at all was there a difference in how gas smelled by me. I think this is just in your head
Everything is in our head
@EarthRealm you just read my mind
You can't mix water into it like making cookie batter in the kitchen.
The gas smelled funny the other day when I was at the station
Because less gas means higher prices… so less smell because of less gas
Women said the same thing about my farts when I was a Millionaire. Now that I'm broke all of them say my farts smell like farts.
Lol it was the same, then and now. Nothing changed
Can’t say that I did.
They might have been cutting it.
Yes must be cuz they refuned sukfers better
Quit huffing gas!
they might use more ethanol in it when its high
you were in shock from the price! LOL
It all smelled the same for me.
