I said yes, but it's a little more complex than that.
First off, I think that humans are basically selfish and lazy. This is partly because I am a human, and I see my selfish and lazy traits and recognize them in lots of other humans.
I also think that many humans like myself, combat this inherent selfish/lazi-ness and are kind and generous to others and also work really hard at plenty of things. I think for the most part though, there are far too many humans out there doing really fucked up things. I kind of don't like to think about it too much because it's depressing, but here's a little list of fucked up things and humans that are happening all the time around the world:
Not that you really have to go searching for ugliness in this world, it's everywhere.
I'm doing my best to just focus on the positive. I think there are a lot of amazing people in the world as well, but the amount of despicable behavior is profound. Like the torturing of people perpetrated in secret by governments (USA, etc) where they are literally hurting people as much as they can and keeping them alive in a hell to get information out of them. It's insane.
@Dinosaursandanime65 it's possible, but I doubt the 2022 Jurassic Park franchise wanted to be associated with the 2018 animal abuse horror documentary. Probably just a coincidence.
What a man can and cannot do as motivated by Human nature is what you must be prepared to deal with.
Most of us will follow rules, for many of us particular the religious that includes moral rules as well.
The share however who will simply do what they think benefits themselfs is significant and will disproportionately be among those who put themselfs in the position to do so.
We either are prepared to deal with such nature or we will be abused by it.
Very often, yes. Thankfully I temporarily tend to swing back in the other direction sometimes too (often when I have such great one-on-one interactions with individuals), but the lows and pessimism are quite intense, when the negativity and poor behaviour and decisions being made around us on a grand scale, are all-too frequent.
I like individuals (some.) But I don't care for humanity as much anymore.
God yes. When I was about 5 years old. Humanity has no future, not if it just goes on its merry way as always and stubbornly refuses to learn from history, from its mistakes.
No, because ultimately, my faith is in Jesus Christ.
As for humanity? Times are dark. I can't do much more than raise my family and have good relationships with my friends. So those are the things I will focus on.

Definitely NOT! This poll only proves to me how much fear, distrust and pain rule this world.
If you want to make the world a better place take a look at yourself and make a change.
I've lost faith in certain generations, but not humanity as a whole. The world has always gone through ups and downs. We fuck up, we fall, and we pick ourselves back up. Unfortunately most of us probably won't live to see the rise again
So many citizen have lost faith in it. You can tell it by worldwide protests. Citizen of the UK have the rights to not pay high gas prices anymore. And I find that absolutely right. We can't afford our daily needs anymore
People think we’re going to solve poverty, homelessness, and achieve world peace when people can’t even flush the toilets in a public restroom or properly dispose of rubbish without littering.
I'm not trying to bust your chops, but never in my life have I heard an American say "rubbish." lol I think you are a good guy, but I was just wondering.
How are humans evil, and the institutions they run and create are not?
Also what is 'evil' as apposed to 'good' is this defined in following a a particular set of rules, or just your judgement?
Regardless there would have to be many good people for the institutional creation of said good people to ever be itself run for Good. Said institution themselfs are also only possible if the people running them are inclined to follow said rules.
Therefore not all humans are evil, and your assuming they can be organized in such a way as to filter out those who are evil. Less no institution could be maintained that would not eventually become itself evil.
This is of course assuming there is a set of objective rules defining what is and is not "evil". If there is not, then any and all people and institution could be both 'evil' and 'good'.
As such both would be a point of view and neither exist.
@007kingifrit There are a great many people who seem to not know what said rules are. If you will not define the rules required for Good then we cannot establish whether or not anyone is following them much-less how to insure everyone knows them and why don't follow them today.
